Reviews of Elvaston Castle Country Park
"Visited today for the Woodland Festival. Firstly it was £15 for all day parking which is basically an entrance fee. Some great craft stalls and lots for the younger kids to get involved with. Lots of food stalls and finally found a stall that had Cornflake tarts !!!! Also some reenactment were taking place but we didn't get to see them. LOOK OUT for the Green man (see photos) the younger kids loved his stories and had them all captivated. Great family day. Especially if you're into arts and crafts."
"Pay and display parking although blue badge holders can park for free. Dog friendly park. Playground with picnic benches nearby. The castle itself is the centrepiece next to a lake and various floral displays. Amongst the attractions at this council managed venue there is a traditional English walled garden and Italian garden. Generally all areas seem accessible for those with mobility concerns. The food offerings range from a cafe at the Castle to mobile food and ice-cream vendors on the car park. I have left a similar review on the castle itself."
"Beautiful castle and gardens. Cute little cafe that does lovely treats. You can only sit outside though. A hidden treasure. Great for walks with children or dogs. Steeped in history x"
"Lovely walk round the Park and lakes , quick swim before a coffee break in the glorious sunshine. Parking great value £3 for 4 hours and the Park , Castle area and Gardens all free to enjoy. Lovely topiary in the Italian Garden. Watts cafe / tea room in the courtyard a bonus. Well worth a visit ... Lots to do in Derbyshire .."
"One of my favourite places. So many gardens to visit. The Azalea garden smells incredible. Great photography opportunities. Great walks too. The cafe and car park can get busy, so I recommend going in the morning. Plan ahead! Take snacks and water!"
