"My son has attended Splat since he was 10 months old. He started during the height of the pandemic, when the nursery (like everyone) were clearly facing additional challenges. I can’t praise Splat highly enough. I find the staff and management passionate about what they do, and I feel 100% assured that my son is well cared for, well fed and engaged in his learning and development while he is at nursery. The small setting and forest school ethos and approach was exactly that I wanted for my son. He adores spending time in the forest and I couldn’t be more pleased that we chose Splat to provide care and learning opportunities for him. Special mention of Ellie and Gina who are just wonderful individuals. If you are looking at nurseries in the area - my view is this is a really unique setting that comes highly recommended."
"My daughter started her Journey at SPLAT from a baby and transitioned through to pre-school room where she leaves to begin primary school. I can not thank SPLAT enough for how they have cared for my daughter. She has been supported tremendously by all her early years teachers. They are amazing at all the creative ways they help to develop children at every stage throughout the nursery Journey. She was guided to be independent where she could be, dressing herself with help from the toddler room, excellent table manners and mealtime skills with support from the baby room stage. The exposure to the great outdoors and the opportunities to learn through out door play with their amazing Forrest School and how pre-school room staff have really connected to her character and their knowledge on what stimulates her! As soon as she was able to talk she has always been eager and excited to go to SPLAT. I believe her eagerness to be there speaks volumes of how safe, secure and fun they have made their space for my daughter. The daily diary updates on the hub and photos that are added have been really informative and allowed a sneak peek into their day which has been really reassuring as a parent. A truly grateful Mum. Thank you to all at SPLAT."
"Neglect!! It's fair to say that children will pick up viruses when they attend nursery, particularly in the beginning, but Splat has been experiencing weekly breakouts of covid, headlice, and hand foot and mouth disease. Upon 'settling' at the nursery, I witnessed filthy toys and neglectful practices. My biggest concern however, was of neglect. I was horrified to witness a member of staff place a distraught baby on her stomach on a freezing cold slab the in the garden (at the front of the building in January) and left her there to cry. The incident was recorded on CCTV and the nursery manager informed me that she had spoken to this member of staff about this behaviour. I do believe best practices need to be trained but there are particular qualities that cannot be learned - you either have the instinct to comfort a child, or you dont, and in this case I'm not convinced you can explain to someone why it is not ok to abandon a crying child in this way! Please be vigilant if you decide to leave your child under the 'care' of Splat nursery staff."
"Great day out"
