Reviews of CAMHS
"My child was referred to CAHMS because of depression and self-harming. We had to wait 9 months for an appointment with psychologist who said that my child doesn't need an appointment with psychiatrist. After 6 months my child is still suffering from depression and still selfharm herself."
"Been trying to get in touch with them every time I call I get told " we will call you back later" I have been trying for over a month now this is causing my child some major stress issues."
"I am a kinship carer to two children who desperately need mental health help. Trying to get help from CAMHS is like banging against a brick wall. We have had our referrals rejected a few times. Whoever is rejecting them did on sparse information and didn’t even talk to us about it. Re the other child it has taken us years to convince them we need help and the process to get to see a clinician is so drawn out, we haven’t seen one yet and it’s like fill in this form, wait for months, do this enquiry, wait months, school visit, wait more months etc etc. I am beyond exasperated and in the meantime my partner and myself are supposed to continue with our ‘good job’."
"Not a good service what so ever. They do not think of the safety of children or adolescent’s. The only thing they are good at is making young people feel invalid. This is such a bad service I have no idea how half of these even have there jobs. Since continuing my “support “with CAMHS my mental health has gone down hill."
"Have left us in the lurch!! Haven't heard from calms in a while after getting diagnosis (which i do not agree with) They promised they wouldnt do this again but have!! Very appalled and thinking about going to papers as my child needs HELP!!! ABSOLUTLY DISGUSTING !!! feel sorry for all the kids"
