"Couldn’t agree more with the below review! I have spent over £7000 in 6 months to get NOWHERE with a divorce. Stopped using them and managed to get everything sorted myself! (Shock) To then find out that the solicitors on the other side were not even receiving any correspondence from Hawkins family law! Absolute SCAM! And now they are trying to take me to court to claim back costs for an amount of money that I did not agree on! Absolute liars and thieves !!!! DO NOT USE!!!! I will be reviewing everywhere I can! "Deciding to go with this law firm was one of the worst decisions of my life. On engaging their services I was told that my divorce couldn't be simpler as we had been separated for many years, no children involved and one asset to be divided. And there was no reason for me not to receive my half of that asset. I decided to pay the extra money and have one of the directors look after my case. It was estimated at the very beginning because of the simple nature of the divorce my costs would not exceed £10, 000. Sounded great, but that was not the reality. 18 months and over £20,000 later it finally ended, only after I ignored their advice which was to just perpetuate the whole Saga. I couldn't afford the monthly bills anymore. I did not receive my half of the asset. Months and months and thousands of pounds were spent requesting information which really had no relevance at all to my case, requesting information that had already been received which obviously costs money. Producing spreadsheets which I found to be incorrect on checking, but I still got charged for them. They even charge you £10 for emailing you your bill every month. My last month's bill after 18 months was over £6,500! For a super simple divorce. The billing is brutal and a large proportion of it was unnecessary in my case, they just went through the motions. Poor advice, badly handled case. But when you have started with a solicitor and are a few months in its too expensive to change and start again. Divorce is a stressful thing and this company compounded that stress, no empathy for your situation, maybe because I am a man. I got that feeling over the months. Bad bad choice."
