Reviews of Farnham Hospital and Centre for Health
"My mother was in Farnham for rehab following admittance to Frimley Park after a fall at home. She was extremely unhappy whilst there. She was left alone in her room for 90% of the time - communication was very poor at all times. Physio did not happen as often as it should have done, so her condition and wellbeing worsened rather than improved. Most staff, especially the nurses, were sitting behind screens most of the time when I visited and were not engaged with their patients. Some HCAs were very hardworking but were badly managed. Staff took over the common room/dining room with their computers and did not encourage the patients to use it at all. Communication between staff and NoK was extremely poor; we were not told that mum had a urine infection, we were not told that she was ready for discharge for nearly a week. We had to keep asking questions and were made to feel that we were interfering when we did. Mum ended up being there for over 4 weeks. Some staff were apologetic and gave attention when it was needed but I am sad to say that one particular senior member of staff had a very poor attitude and didn't speak with courtesy to patients or their visitors. I was appalled with her lackadaisical attitude. There was a very laid back attitude generally and I believe a lot of precious NHS resources are wasted. Overall the Bourne Ward is poorly led and managed in my opinion. It's a brilliant facility that could be a shining star. We were very disappointed overall."
"Appalling management. They really must sort out the car park, it is full of cars with no connection to the Hospital. People working in town, park and ride and parking for the station. All free of charge. If I have to use the car, I will park in a staff space next time."
"Safety is a priority but it's a pity the "helpers" during Covid vaccine time don't help with the heavy fire doors. Parking is a big problem but watch out for the volunteers - they are wearing high visibility jackets and will help you find a space."
"came in for an appointment, they ""forgot"" to call me to explain they couldn't do it - lack of communication on their part!! Physio department are useless and would rather give you stretches in hope it helps than actually look into the problem and do physical work (like a private physio would). I was then discharged despite zero improvement. Shouldn't have wasted my time! The only good thing, the reason it has 1 star is the parking is free."
