Reviews of 25 Erleigh Road - Berkshire Healthcare
"I personally felt so much better after treatment and found the staff friendly and sympathetic"
"Very good at what they do."
"After getting referred, by the NHS, to Berkshire Traumatic Stress Services, I got sent some questionnaires. After I sent them back, I had to wait a while to get an appointment, from which I would be interviewed. I got the interview and was diagnosed... then told that there were two courses to attend before eventually getting on the NHS waiting list to see someone for one-to-one appointments. The NHS waiting list, after the courses, would be 2+ years for the first appointment. After a time, the first course started and I completed it. The massive thing I got from it is that I'm not alone... I understand that there are lots of people with illnesses similar to me who, between them have all, share the same issues as me, for whatever their own reasons are. That made me feel better about me, my illness and its effects. Nobody has walked in your shoes, but their footprints are similar to mine. Then I was told I could have the choice of either attending the 2nd course or bypassing it to go straight to the waiting list. I chose the direct route. I don't know if that was the right or wrong thing to do, but I had been suffering for 40+ years, I just wanted to get started! I only had to wait two and a bit years for that ;-) That's the NHS waiting lists for you! Covid-19 interfered with my treatment, but in spite of that, the treatment has definitely been helpful and has addressed the initial causes of my illness. I still have the illness and my after effects, but the NHS strictly limit the number of sessions you can have, no matter how you feel. Also, I could have opted for video sessions on the Internet to finish my treatment, but I chose to wait for the one-on-one sessions to resume. I would happily keep attending sessions, if it was possible, and hopefully get my more of my illness and effects treated too! I feel like I will never be cured now, but that's down to the NHS and not the Psych team... All the problems here are caused by the NHS waiting times, the lack of funds to employ more qualified staff who would reduce the waiting times and allow more people to get treatment; and restricting the number of treatment sessions you are allowed to have, no matter how you are left at the end, because the waiting list will forever be added to, by more people getting referred for treatment. Its a vicious cycle caused by lack of funds! The service I received has been great, from the reception staff up. The team are brilliant and will go on helping more people. That makes it FIVE STARS from me in spite of the NHS problems... it's not their fault about the waiting times or restrictions on session quantity. I wish all of them the very best in their professions and lives. Wonderful service and professionalism throughout! Thank you :-D"
"Long waiting time."
