"I had read these reviews before going, so was pleasantly surprised. My appointment was a blood test. I parked nearby and walked in to avoid the car park charges. Reception were friendly & helpful. Check in was easy and I was seen quickly. The medic who did my test was brilliant - friendly, professional, and gave good advice."
"Very large so can be confusing and it is very warm at all times, however I’ve never personally had an issue with the staff. They’ve always been polite to me. Come here often for appointments so perhaps it’s because I’m a familiar face. Phone lines are a bit dodgy as it’s difficult to actually get through, or they don’t answer at all, but otherwise a compassionate, prompt team."
"On 3/11/22 I was in the Centre in order to book myself for a blood test and a CXR. The radiology receptionist was very rude and unprofessional. She was repeating all my confidential data in front of a full waiting room. She initially told me I can't book myself for any of the services, I told her that my GP has told me to go there and book. She told me that I can book online and that she doesn't have time to do it then. I asked what the website is and told her that it was my first time in the Centre and that I'm not familiar with the process. She rolled her eyes, huffed and threw a flyer on the counter. I saw the flyer was for booking the blood test, so I asked again about the CXR. She rolled her eyes again and told me that she can book me for that one. I spelled my name, gave her the printed request form, but she couldn't find me in the system. As it's a common mistake, I asked if my name was spelled wrong. She told me no and then told me that she tried spelling my name in different ways, I tried to tell her how to write it, but she wouldn't listen to me and was talking over me. She called the GP practice and then told me that she was putting my name wrong, but she found me after my NI no. She then proceeded to repeat all of my info very loud in front of everyone present. Told me to sit down. I didn't know if she booked me or not. There was no communication, no empathy, no help. She did the same thing to the other patients that were waiting in line."
"Some reception staff are rude. Appointments are never on time, and I think it's disgusting that you have to pay to park when you come here. The building is so hot that everyone is coughing everywhere!"
"The doctors are in the main very good although there have been some exceptions. The Cambridge Practice seems to suffer from it's immense size and administrative problems. There is always difficulty in seeing a doctor who may have seen you previously and is familiar with your medical history, sometimes leading to misdiagnosis, or misinterpretation of results. Medical test results seem to be lost far too regularly, especially when the tests get conducted by a third party. Text messages are often sent out to patients that the reception team are sometimes unaware of because they have not been properly recorded."
