"I completed the Rope Induction at Golden Gecko a couple of weeks ago. The course was great! I really enjoyed it! Andy who is the instructor is very friendly, knowledgeable and has a lot of climbing experience. After completing this course I feel confident using the ropes and belaying in a climbing gym. There were people with different levels of experience in the group from novices to people who regularly use auto-belays and we all had a great time. The place itself is very well equipped and it has a lot of auto-belays, walls for rope climbing and bouldering. The staff are very helpful and always available if you need help or advice on climbing. There is also a cafe with hot drinks and food (with vegan options). I highly recommend Golden Gecko and the Rope Induction course!"
"Had an amazing afternoon at golden gecko! I highly recommend for all children. Such a cool place, I wish we had one closer. But it's 100% worth the 2 hour drive and we will be definitely be back soon! My son thoroughly enjoyed himself for the whole session. A massive thanks to Sarah for helping him build his confidence and treasure hunting (And for getting him to listen!) Really inexpensive cafe with lots to choose from. Toilets are clean and checked regularly. Just a really wonderful place. Thanks again guys!"
"This place is brilliant! I haven't tried climbing in 30 years, and I'm terrified of heights, but the amazing staff had myself and my kids scampering up the walls in no time. I felt we were all really safe, and well looked after. Lovely cafe and a relaxed and happy environment for all."
"Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, it felt like we were being welcomed into their home. There were a great range of climbs and boulder problems to keep us entertained and challenged. I love that they have so many autobelays, it means you can climb alongside friends and means if you're down a belay partner you've still got plenty to climb. Thoroughly recommend the centre to anyone; and they serve great food and drinks in the cafe"
"Great place, visited at 7 pm on a weekday and even with Covid restrictions there was always a wall to climb. Staff were very friendly and gave helpful tips. They even give you special climbing shoes for free (whilst you're there), which really make a difference compared to normal trainers. There are straight walls and also ones with weird shapes and overhangs. There are also various difficulties available from really easy to incredibly hard. Don't be afraid of getting judged if you've never climbed before, the staff are amazing and the atmosphere is very relaxed. There's a waiting area for people who don't want to climb and even a café. However, it does get quite chilly so make sure to bring a coat of you're there during the evening or winter."
