"Refused to allow me to touch or see a £210 game controller before purchasing and told me if I bought it and didnt like it, they would not refund it even if I returned it within 5 minutes. No ability to physically inspect product. Anti customer/consumerism business. If you buy online via Amazon you can return a product if it isnt right for you and if you buy from Currys or other high street shops, you get to physically look at the product. Wasted journey, pointless trying to support the store. Awful unfriendly attitude. Dont buy from them as they openly state they wont accept returns. Avoid."
"Well stocked and tidy! Customer experience needs a little work. As a first time parent looking to buy baby stuff i was so excited to browse and to buy eventually (that I did and spent £203 hahaha). Me: hi I need some help with an item pls. Staff: what help do you need. . . She wasn’t rude but not friendly as well. She was not thrilled to help a customer, no acknowledgement, no rapport building. Counter was the same and the chap by the door was the same. Again, they are not rude but neither friendly."
"A great store with a great range of lego which was very well stocked! I was impressed with how tidy it was too!"
"Today I visited this store to purchase a LEGO Dots message board as they do not stock this item at Argos which is the shop I usually use most, for buying children's toys. I entered the store and greeted the young boy on the door who I presumed was counting the footfall. I was visibly carrying a white Next Carrier bag which had two LEGO Extras Dots packs that I had purchased from Argos. They were on offer there so I bought them when I saw the deal. I found the message board and browsed the store to see if there was anything else I wanted to buy, it's my youngest son's 8th birthday tomorrow so I was out shopping for his presents. I then went to a till and paid for the message board. As I went to leave the store, the boy at the door stopped me and asked me if he could see my receipt and I cheerfully and immediately said 'of course!' And I showed it to him. He then continued quite aggressively 'Can I see in your bag?' I was quite taken aback by this and asked him 'Why?! Did you see me put anything in my bag whilst I was in your store?' He replied 'No'. So I continued by asking him, 'Why would you stop me and want to look in my bag, did you not see me enter this store with this white Next Carrier bag?' He replied 'yes'. So I'm confused by this now and beginning to feel quite unhappy. I've opened the bag and literally thrust it into his face, I then continued by saying that I will show him the receipt, and it was either in my handbag or car. Anyway, he is still peeping into the carrier bag and I demand a Manager. I'm assuming it was the manager, a woman who came over within a couple of seconds, she literally peered into the bag and looks at the items, she then looks up at him and says 'We don't even stock these items in this store' He then begins meekly apologising 'Madam, Madam, I'm sorry!' I literally snatched the bag out of his hands and walked out! I was absolutely fuming! This pathetic emoesque teenager (and I don't care that I've written that, he accused me of shoplifting based on what?!) was not security and had no right stopping me like that based on ??? There's a reason why I always go to Argos and that will long continue! I suggest Smyths outline customer service expectations and job roles to all of their staff in the Basingstoke store! How embarrassing for me! Why should I be treated like that by someone who could not even explain his actions?? AVOID AVOID AVOID"
"Squashmellows are in! I do not know if the price or selection is good but these blob-like plush toys are well and truly in stock!"
