Reviews of The Hunters Inn
"Came in for Mother’s Day, very disappointed with everything, had to wait 30 minutes just for our drinks and food order to be taken just to wait another hour for food too arrive and when it did was very disappointed, everything was cold, roast potatoes hard, dry and tasted frozen, veg was cold and burnt, beef was edible but cold. Gravy was like tap water. Didn’t even bother staying for dessert"
"A huge upgrade from how the place was previously (I worked there for 5 years), they finally got rid of that horrendous carpet! The interior is drastically more stylish in general. I had the burger, which was a pleasant experience, although the dish could’ve done with salad as garnish and maybe a pickle inside the bun. The chips, however, were superb. Our waitress was really cheery and friendly - good overall service. Going up to pay is the default, which is absolutely fine by me as sometimes it’s nice not to be pushed to leave! EDIT: Updating this after having visited a second time for drinks only. We met with a few friends in the bar on a Thursday afternoon when it was quiet, which we expected. Two disappoints, though. First, there was no background music playing, which just felt strange and dead. It really ruined the atmosphere when it was already really empty. Second, we fancied a light bite to eat, even just a side, but there was no lunch menu and no sides section on the main menu. Just starters, mains, and desserts. Sure, you can ask for some chips, but would be nice to see a range of sides and at least some kind of lunch grub."
"Food was delicious, couldn't have been more impressed. Good choice of food on the menu and great value for money. Look forward to coming back and trying something else!"
"Hunters Inn which is located near Swanmore, basically a 5-10 minute walk, was closed for many years and there were rumours about it reopening but because of the pandemic it seems if was delayed Went there recently, staff really gave the impression that they were engaging with the customers I had the vegetable soup to start with , extremely tasty, followed by Hunters Chicken with salad and house chips, once again perfectly presented, a great choice, Dessert was a warm chocolate brownie and vanilla ice cream certainly would give it 5 stars"
"This is a newly refurbished pub/restaurant situated just outside Swanmore village in Hampshire. Being newly opened there are obviously a few teething problems, which is to be expected; these mostly due to lack of staff and knowledge of products. But on the whole the serving team tries very hard to achieve success. This venue has some of the cheapest drinks outside of the Wetherspoon chain and a Sharp's cider at 5%abv... will set you back an astonishing £3.20 a pint!!! The menu is not fully available yet but I enclose photos of the current choices. Give this place a go, you won't be disappointed."
