Reviews of Woodleys Park Day Nursery
"Terrible nursery. We enrolled our son in august 2022, he had just turned 3 and this was his second nursery in Northampton. We pulled him out by November that same year. We were never taken for a tour through the nursery or his room. Every time we asked for a tour they said they would do a virtual tour via call and never called us. It was never clear who his key worker was until 3 months after he had been there. There were new workers every other week and they would constantly ask my partner who he was here to collect despite him being on the collection list and even dropping our son off that same morning. After nearly 3 months the workers would say that he still plays by himself, doesn’t really get involved in group activities - if there even were any. He began crying at drop off and not wanting to go to nursery. This was a red flag for us because that is not normal behaviour from him. We were never given any progression reports of his learning or anything practical about his education. It seriously felt like an expensive babysitting service. Some times when I would collect my son I would peep through the window and see staff looking MISERABLE and depressed and then once she saw me she perked up her mood. It made me angry to think that is how she would be in the room with the young children. I would NOT recommend this nursery to anyone. The only positive of being here was that he did warm up to one worker who we also really liked, Zoe. But other than her this nursery is a shambles. It only took him 1 week after being at his new nursery to settle in. 1 WEEK! Compared to the 3 months at Woodley’s. He is at Child’s first, Moulton and it is an incredible nursery with beautiful staff, rooms and facilities. He has been so much happier at Child’s first and loves going every time."
"Since my son started at woodleys park. He has adored the staff there he leaves me at the door and doesnt look back. The skills he has learnt since being there are fabulous and has come on such a long way. The new management at the nursery are fabulous and will go above and beyond to help. I would definitely recommend to anyone."
"I have recently pulled my child out of this nursery absolutely disgusting practice etc as another reviewer put it simply just another really expensive babysitting service...avoid like the plague!!!!"
"My son went to this "school" last year till December, at the beginning he was in a class together with a good teacher but after two month the same teacher decide to leave her job and start into another school. After the teacher left my son started to change behavior, he began to misbehave and also to not eat much. However, the school members said it was normal. Then, I invested much money into a new business venture here in Northampton and as usual I had some financial issue with this school for one of the invoices that till that time I always paid in time. Their reaction was abnormal. The invoice was regarding December, which I believe I had 30 days to paid but they were asking for the money in advance. In the middle of December my wife went to the school taking my soon with her, and the person in charge mentioned the issue (My personal Information) in the corridor in front other people and staff members. My wife felt ashamed and humiliated from their attitude. They told her that my son was not welcome anymore till when I was not paying the bill to them. I decided, after this ridiculous behavior to do not let my son anymore go to this school. They told me that to do that I had to pay also a notice period that I found as another ridiculous requested also because my soon had not go back to that school since the issued day. I denied to paid anything to them and their reaction was sued me for a County court judgement, and marked me on my credit score with Experian which I founded out my self. I told them at the phone that I was going to pay just because I did not want any bad credit on my report, and advised them that I was going to put a bad review to their school after I paid. Their answer to my secretary was "please tell him do not do that". I am not a bed person and if they were going to see the family part of the situation and having in their hart the children and not the money, obviously I was not going to write this reception. But as the previous father wrote in this school regards, my opinion is exactly the same. They just care about the money and they have not interest about the children or the families. My son now is in another school together with his old teacher and he loves stay with her."
"My son started at this nursery in April 2015 when he was 11 months old. Initially, all seemed ok but over time major flaws in his care became apparent. The head of the baby room was promoted to deputy manager and starting spending a large proportion of her time in the office. This meant an unqualified childcare assistant was often left alone in the baby room looking after the children (all under 2). We often witnessed her having more than three babies/toddlers to care for (i.e., out of ratio for children to staff as set by Ofsted). In other words, an inexperienced, unqualified 17-year-old apprentice (paid less than £3/hr) was left to look after multiple, very young children on a daily basis when she should have been supervised at all times. Fortunately, she was very conscientious, and we only realised she should have been supervised after my son started at his new nursery. After the assistant left standards got worse. The daily communication book was frequently partially filled in or not done at all and when we requested to see my son's learning journey it hadn't been completed for six weeks. There were rarely activities planned to enhance the babies development. It was more of an expensive babysitting service. I've also since heard from a former member of staff that if some children were sleeping, they would get one child to do multiple paintings and write other children's names on them to pretend they'd all done it! When we collected my son, he was rarely engaged with a staff member and usually playing alone. This is in stark contrast to his new nursery. He was also often very thirsty when he got home and this has never been the case at the new nursery. Multiple members of staff were working their notice or had recently left when we decided to change nursery, many of whom had been there less than a year (including the manager) so the staff did not appear to be happy either. We decided to take my son out with immediate effect in October 2015 and we're so glad we did. It's been even clearer how bad this nursery is since we started at the new one. Woodleys park is more interested in the profit they make than basic child safety and I would advise you to stay away at all costs. I'd also be aware that Rhymetime (also in St Crispin) is part of the same group"
