The Chequers

"Me and my partner visited this place on a whim and can’t express how amazing both the food and staff were. Many years ago we spent sometime in Thailand and since have never come across any restaurant serving Thai food that has even come close to being as good as it was there, until now!! We sat in the snug where the tables were laid out beautifully with the lovely touch of a Christmas hat laid on each plate. The staff were very helpful, polite and efficient. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for 100% authentic Thai food being served in a beautiful place with great staff!!"

"Great find a few village's away from us. Authentic Thai food done really really well. Flavour profiles great, nice level of heat in the appropriate dishes. Service was fantastic too, he had us eating out the palm of his hand. Only slight let down is the dessert menu - no Thai desserts. Would like to see some Asian options. Still 5 star overall Can't wait to return :)"

"The pub is known as 'The Chequers' but this pub has just gone through a transformation into a 'Thai' Restaurant know as (Fat Buddha Thai) they have completely remodenised and transformed the whole interior of the pub and brought it into the 21st century full of modern features of today. This pub will now never serve a pub grub style food, but now find a delicious 'Thai Restaurant' cuisine. I visited this pub on the 1st December 2021 and would highly recommend a visit if you are passing through, even for a quick drink! Staff are amazing and friendly, just like there former owners."
