"We booked for Hogmanay. Our table was right at the door which wasn't ideal. We had to wait quite some time for our main dishes and when they came the food wasn't even warm. We eventually got a waiter who took away the main courses but left us with the cold food on our plate. He returned with the heated food which was much warmer but no new plates. We finished our mains waited about half an hour for someone to take our plates away and to see what else we would like but that never happened. Also no one came back to see if our food was fine after it was reheated. Meanwhile loads of people were now waiting for tables and were waiting right beside us. In the end my husband went to the bar to pay our bill as it was obvious that if we wanted anything else we were going to have to wait quite a while. We have often gone to The Light of Bengal but was very disappointed with this visit."

"Awful. Placed our order online via the website. Told 60mins for delivery. Phoned after 1hr 20mins to find out what was happening to be told my food was still waiting to leave the restaurant because they were a driver down that evening. Told it’d be with me in around 20 minutes. 30 mins later still not here. I phoned back again to be told by the manager it had left the restaurant but he had no idea when so couldn’t say how long it’d take. Finally after well over 2 hours from placing the order the food arrived. It was all now cold. After reheating the food, 3 out of 4 meals were ok but the 4th meal (lamb Kathmandu Massalan) was poor. It was not spicy like it said on the menu it would be and was very salty. The poppadoms were also soft. This was our first time trying this restaurant and after the poor service and the way in which the manager spoke to me and dealt with the issue we will not be returning. It was very expensive for a decidedly average meal with very poor service."

"Went there for my sons birthday ,we were not impressed . To start the restaurant was cold and we had to keep our jackets on for awhile .(toilets freezing) The food was nice but found a hair in my sons food ,when telling them they said it must have been put there by us . Got our bill but had to say we were not finished as had a cake brought in to have , when we did get the cake no plates,forks had to ask . Won’t be going back"
