"An incredible day out. Plenty of parking on arrival and staff super friendly when greeting and getting tickets sorted. Provided with a map by a lovely lady who talked us through navigating the park. Wandered for a few hours and followed the trails, beautiful views, great to see the wild deer and the location is just so peaceful. Gardens and orchid are so peaceful and a must see! Ended our trip in the coffee shop, cappuccino x2 and an Americano with a round of cakes which were lovely!! Courtyard was beautiful and had a great buzz with lots of people which was great to see. Garden shop was beautiful with everything well presented, staff very friendly throughout the day. Thank you for a great experience, we will return!!"
"This is my closest National trust property, I have lived near here for my entire life but never visited, my parents would never take us here & now I know why it's a beautiful home but it gets extremely packed out, 3 car parks full by 11, I believe it gets half a million visitors a year, not really our sort of place we prefer quieter places so you can take in & Enjoy your surroundings. The house inside is absolutely amazing, it has a feminine side & a masculine side, The picture Gallery has a wonderful Glass roof & at the the top of the stairs a glass dome. It's well worth a visit to see at least just once for its magnificent splendor, but it was far too crowded for us. Most people seem to use it as a dog walking place & don't even bother with the house. The kitchen basement area was open & showed a really good example of how the downstairs lived, really good recipe book for sale in the kitchen."
"This is a great place to visit. Plenty to see inside the mansion and really interesting. There is also the fantastic walled gardens and play fields to explore anytime of the year. There is a large estate and several suggested walks. There is a large deer park and we spotted many deer. As you would expect with National Trust, there is a car park, toilets and cafe."
"Such a beautiful place. The grounds are enormous and there are lots of walks. Lots to see and lots to do. The house is simply gorgeous. It is a must see place. Staff are friendly and helpful. Toilets extremely clean and spotless. Cafe is reasonably priced which is unusual for any NT property as they are normally unbelievably expensive. Love having deckchairs all over the grounds. Sitting by the river watching the world go by was just lovely. It is a jewel in the crown for the NT. Take a picnic and enjoy"
"Visited in August 2020 on my Shropshire holiday. I am a National Trust member and used to visit the houses inside, too, but seeing my pictures it did not happen-probably because the house was closed due to the first Covid hysteria. I am sure it worth to see inside, too, and if once I go that part of the country again, will do. But the parkland was also beautiful with deer herds, meadow and woodland paths, and we can have long, nice walk on the fresh air."
