"After initial contact, within two days, Keith came to my house with his luxury jeep to quote for a combi-boiler installation project. I have explained him the project in detail and which particular Worcester Bosch model to install (Greenstar 800 Life) - showing him the brochures and all. He was interested indeed and even made some recommendations how to go about it. Within another two days, he has sent me the official quote as agreed - very high number but perhaps acceptable given the complexity of work and the particular equipment which is expensive to start with. Then I have realized maybe a sinister mistake - he made up the model name - added ErP to it which refers to the cheaper older version of the brand (almost 1000 Eur cheaper) - when I realized and asked him to double check, after many emails of no reply, he finally said “sorry we are busy and cannot take new customers at this stage. Good luck”. He clearly realized that he is not going make loads of money from an honest work. Now he is probably on to the next lucrative house to scam…please do your research - the more you know, the less attractive prey you become…"

We had moved out for this and a house rewire. Payment terms were very easy; there was a very satisfactory level of trust from the company. They asked for no money until job was done.
