"After reading a review posted about Charlie's childcare which Is based solely on a mother of a 2 year old child letting their child run wild and free at the main entrance of the cafe attached to the crèche (who seems nothing short of disgusted that her child wasn't offered free entry to the crèche) I felt I had to share my own opinion as an experienced childcare professional. 1. This is not a walk in childcare facility nor does it advertise walk ins so I don't know why any parent would expect a child to be invited into a crèche, I would also be concerned as to why a parent would want their child to be invited in having not seen the premises or know the staff. 2. The crèche is a place for children to develop and learn in a safe and caring environment and as much as staff care for all children, they are certainly not obliged to care for the development of a child looking through a window, who has never been in their care. 3. Childcare staff have an extremely stressful job at times, so be it if they need to pull down the blinds! It is not their job to entertain your child while you can't, its their job to care for the children who are in the facility and whoes parents pay hard earned cash to put them there! 4. The child who was left to develop mentally and socially through the window: mother of the year award goes to her!"

"Our Ethos At Charlie’s Childcare we believe every child is entitled to equality of opportunity to learn and develop.....It is our aim to help children develop in all areas: socially, physically, mentally, morally, intellectually and emotionally. Apparently not. Whilst at a visit to the gourmet food parlour next door to the crèche my 2 year went to the hallway of the cafe and was looking in the window of the crèche at the other kids. He was in view of my friend (a nanny who worked in crèches for years) and I who were watching intently. He was there a few minutes then I went and got him. The women were veering through the glass shaking their heads.... I ignored as I thought perhaps they thought he wasn't being watched so I thought fair enough. If they thought a 2 year old was standing there with no one watching him this does appear bad. I brought my child back to the seat but he wanted back to the window to see the other kids again, the crèche workers started lowering a poster so the kids couldn't see through the window to see my child and my child was unable to see the kids. Both my friend and I couldn't believe how they behaved. My friend added if that had happened when she worked in crèches she would have mayb invited the child in etc. I have never reviewed anything on google before especially not bad reviews but this was my experience with the centre and I was not impressed, my child was not given an opportunity to develop mentally or socially, he didn't get a good learning experience or chance to develop. Just snubbed by crèche workers thinking covering a window whilst a 2 year old was there looking in so he couldn't interact with others was a fair experience for him. Whilst he may have been a distraction for the kids inside it's not as though they were studying for the leaving cert. Whilst I enjoy the gourmet food parlour next door it has even put me off going there as I know the next time I go my 2 year old will want back to that window again."
