Reviews of Kilworth House Hotel
"A beautiful venue for lunch, especially in good weather - the Orangery is so sunny and airy, I almost needed sunglasses! Stunning grounds, and a lovely, welcoming feel to the hotel. My meal was good, although I was not overwhelmed by the choice, but everyone was very attentive and pleasant, and it was a really nice experience - would definitely recommend."
"Visited for afternoon tea mid-week for my birthday. Hotel is easy to find with plenty of parking. We arrived early so sat in the lounge next to a roaring fire and enjoyed a view of the gardens. Tea was served in the Orangery, which is a lovely big room with plenty of light. Service was excellent. Staff were very attentive and explained each of the separate elements of the tea. Refills were plentiful and there was more than enough food. We took some home in a box! Our 10year old joined us and the children's afternoon tea was lovely. Well thought out and just the right size. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. Highly recommend."
"To get to Kilworth House is straightforward from junction 20 on the M1. Drive up to the House is impressive. Plenty of free car parking. The afternoon tea is one of the best. Location is in the conservatory which is light, bright and very comfortable. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Had a most enjoyable and memorable day."
"Beautiful castle with a great backdrop of rolling gardens. The food is fresh and wholesome. Book in advance because it's a popular location. Allow plenty of time to relax and chat and soak in the atmosphere by the sitting areas."
"Hard one to call really. The house/hotel and grounds are really well looked after and the views are spectacular. We was there for afternoon tea and if I'm honest, the cakes were really nice, as were the pastries, but the sandwiches were bland. We couldn't tell the difference between the scones, has one had what appeared to have specks of (maybe) cheese in the scone and the other had cheese on the top, but both were very bland. More or stronger cheese needed. Tea and coffee were plenty, but I couldn't understand why only one teapot was shared between four people. As soon as we had had one cup, the teapot was empty. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I don't know if it would be a good place to take young children. It is wheelchair/pushchair friendly to the Orangery, as it was all on one floor including access from the car park. We didn't stop over, so I can't comment on the hotel."
