"Unfortunately they couldn't tell me what is wrong with my car. However, I don't hold this against them at all. They are 1 of 3 garages who have ended with the same conclusion. However, they have helped me narrow the problem down and I now know that my pressure at the rail is excessively high and fluctuating. I will likely return to them for additional work or parts as I systematically work through the high pressure side of the fuel pump. Thanks chaps for fitting me in but I may also be coming back to you for a manual pressure test to confirm and ensure its not a sensor throwing out dodgy readings."
