"Very unpleasant experience. Went to Justin Hughes Solicitors to sign documents pertaining to the sale of my home before a commissioner for oaths. As a condition of this service the solicitor cannot be involved in the sale in any way. After I paid them and sent the completed documents to my solicitor, he told me that Justin Hughes were actually representing the buyer of my home so the documents were null and void and I had to get them signed again elsewhere. When I returned to Justin Hughes to let them know what happened and request a refund, the person we had dealt with said they were giving me 50% refund because they 'felt bad for me.' When I said I felt a full refund was more appropriate as they hadn't done due diligence and verified the address of the documents they were signing (which was the house their own client was purchasing!), they said it 'wasn't their fault, an appointment was made and they had spent 15 minutes completing the service.' There didn't appear to be any consideration for the time and money they had wasted on me and there was also a baffling lack of accountibility on their part for seemingly signing documents without paying close enough attention to the content. So bizarre to quibble over what is (relatively speaking) a meagre sum of money for their business when they had utterly failed to execute the simple service for which they were hired. Would not recommend from a professional or customer service point of view."
