Reviews of St Peters National School
"Best school I’ve ever attended I’m 54 now and from what I can remember I never had bullying or any bad experience in that school grant it the yard is small if you done wrong the teachers would slap u with a cane but it never done anything wrong with me I went on to attend plunkett college from there so that’s my story of school when I was growing up"
"My children are attending this school at the moment. They complain about the yard, its too small, no place where to play outside. The school is a catholic, but very open for another religions, its an international at all. Most of the teachers are yang and very friendly, also Ms Quinn the principle is a very good with the children and respectful. No after-school care."
"I lived on Royal Canal Bank and went to St. Peters. My first teacher was Miss Gannon and then Mrs Finnucane. She used to have us jumping in the yard yelling " ag pioca úla"(picking apples)one hand after the other in the air as we jumped. Then I went upstairs to Mossy O'Connor's class, next door to Mr Woods. Anyone who could play football or hurling made out well in Mossy's class. Mossy played football for Clan Na Gael. He instilled in me a love far all things Irish and I once wrote to him from New York for the words of an Irish song, which he sent and said "I hope I don't have to put up with this every 33 years". That was a magic teacher! I've been in the States since1970.but never forgot my school and what it taught me. An interesting fact...once when Romania were playing in Dalymount park against Ireland the church had banned all Catholics from going to the match as Romania were Communists Mossy allowed us to watch the match out the 2nd floor windows as long as we promised not to cheer!!! He told us that if we made noise we would be writing a 2 fools-cap page composition in Irish. We were quiet as mice! I wonder where Paddy Reilly, Sean Moran, Noel Casey and the rest of the gang are? I was there from '47 to '55 when we moved to Santry. Out in the country!!! We used to to play in the fields where Ballymun flats were built. I'm 73 now and living in the Mojave Desert in California."
"As a student I love the school and the understanding teachers working there. The principal Joan Quinn ( Mrs. Quinn) is very caring especially to the little ones"
