Reviews of The Frank Kearns Rockschool
"After taking guitar lessons with frank for three years I was capable of playing at a level I could never imagine before I started. The entire time he was patient and encouraging and playing in his camps helped to grow my confidence as a guitar player. He has greatly benefited me as a musician and I have never felt more confident at my instrument"
"Wow 30 years of The Frank Kearns Rockschools!!! Congratulations on this amazing achievement Frank. It’s hard to believe that the Rockschools started back in 1992. I’m honoured to have been there from almost the very start. I think I started lessons with you in 1995 when I was 12 & attend my very first Rockschool that same year. You are the best in the biz in my opinion Frank & I always looked forward to my guitar lesson every week & attending any & every Rockschool I could(2 Summer sessions, School Mid-Term sessions & any other you put on) I made some life long friends at the Rockschools all while we wrote & recorded our own original material & learned every aspect of a professional recording studio from you. You taught us things like the best ways to mic up a full drum kit, the best ways to mic up our guitar & bass amps & the best techniques to record vocals so that we got the highest quality recording possible. You also taught us how to engineer, mix & master all our tracks on a professional 24 Track Reel-to-Reel analog Tape recorder, which was the top of the line equipment back then & an amazing learning experience. Your wealth of music knowledge & passion for what you do were truly contagious & I can’t thank you enough for that as without you I would not be the musician I am today. It has been a true honour knowing you for the past 27 years & I wish you nothing but continued success with the Rockschools"
"The Rockschool was a huge part of my life and gave me the confidence to pursue a college degree in music. The experience you have at the camps, which I highly recommend doing for meeting people who are similar to you, is one of passion, laughs and the love of music. If you are interested in learning about song writing, how to work with other people, the musical space and developing confidence in your playing, Frank and those who work with him will be more then willing to guide you in the right direction. As a once new drummer who was highly enthusiastic about getting better and doing camps, to a jazz music student, Franks Rockschool was the foundation to having the confidence to pursue my passion further then a hobby."
"The Rockschool has been a big part of my family’s life as I had originally taken part in the very first rock camp back in the day! So now as a 40yr old man it’s great to see my teenage son enjoy the experience as much as I did back then. The recording facilities an learning experience for budding artists is second to none.Franks first hand knowledge as a touring an recording artist shines through as the kids learn new things everyday, but everything is made fun in a relaxed atmosphere where budding rock stars are allowed be them selfs. My son has taken part in many camps an has made like minded music friends for life. Thanks Frank!"
"My daughter took drum lessons with Frank's Rockschool for six years and she thoroughly enjoyed her time with the guys there. Frank and his team encourage and promote all students to explore their own musical directions and there is always a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Frank went above and beyond to continue through Covid lockdowns via online lessons - no mean feat for drummers - and it was fantastic for the students to have a sense of normality in those extraordinary times. If you are looking for drum or guitar lessons, you won't regret visiting Rockschool - they are a class act!"
