Your Local Pharmacy

"I used to love popping around to Huntstown Pharmacy but I avoid it unless I’m absolutely desperate. I believe she may be the manager, I’m not 100%, but she acts like the manager so I’m guessing she is. Anyway, she has to be the rudest person I’ve ever met. I’m not quite sure what her issue is but she goes out of her way to be rude. When I walk in, I get what I call the death stare from her and she loves to walk away when I’m next in the queue and refuses to take for my items at the till. I worked in retail for years. I’m not a demanding customer. I don’t mind having to wait if people are busy. I was standing there for about 5 mins one day, there was no other customers in the pharmacy. She continued to make phone calls to customers and then announced “okay I’m going on lunch.” Finally one of the girls from behind the counter approached me and I could pay for my stuff. Bare in mind, she had been serving customers right before this. I haven’t been in there in ages because like I said, I just hate going in there after having far too many encounters with this particular woman, but I went in today because I had forgotten to pick something up in the centre. (The idea of walking in there gives me anxiety, she is that rude.) She did her usual. Was serving a customer. Finished serving. Saw me standing there with what I was buying and walked away and pretended to be busy and kept her head down. There was a lovely girl that works there (young blond girl with lovely lashes) that was sitting on the floor sorting stuff and she looked over and saw there was nobody there to take for my items and she got up and came over to me. She was lovely. I could feel her burning a hole in my face as the lovely girl took for my items and chatted away with me. My family have lived in this area for 30 years. We’ve been using this pharmacy for as long as I can remember. It costs nothing to be nice. Also, I never write bad reviews. Ever! I love giving businesses good reviews. I went out of my way to write this because all through lockdown, this woman has acted this way and continues to do so and it makes no sense whatsoever."

"I rarely, if at all post bad reviews, I'm a glass half full person but I can't let this go. It doesn't cost anybody anything to be nice or say Hi, goodbye and thanks. I queued for 5 minutes yesterday evening as only 1 person allowed in the store at a time. The girl who served me didn't say Hi when I greeted her directly, didn't thank me for my purchase or say goodbye. She looked away as I said Thanks to her and Goodbye to her. I just thought that was so rude. It may be lack of training or common courtesy, whatever, there's no excuse for it. To whoever the manager is please train your staff in the basics and greet and thank Customers always!! I wont judge this person, you never know whats going on in their lives. That's why I didn't say anything at the time. I dont like to embarrass. In the grand scheme of things its no big deal but its something I noticed and irked me as I felt like my custom wasn't worth a Thanks or a Goodbye. Its nice to be nice."
