Reviews of Hailsham Leisure Centre
"Changing rooms were disgusting, dirt all over the floors.. the most disgusting pool I have ever been in, I felt physically sick! Never again. Pool was freezing too. Such a shame, as the bowling area etc. is decent. The slide doesn’t even work, their inflatable time is just a few foam mats that the kids sit on. Generally the worse pool I have been in."
"I'm still rating this place as a 3. I wanted to rate it higher but atm I can't. The reason being is that I joined up again in January for the gym and pool. I'm yet to use the gym so once I have I may cha get this rating. I got to the pool around 745 pm and headed to the changing rooms. Straight away I thought it was quite dirty, the floors were not clean at all and dirty footprints and mud all over. I went into a cubicle to change and could smell urine quite strongly, moved to another slightly better cubicle but could still smell it. Went to lock my stuff in a locker and the keys we're lose with no band to secure it to my wrist so had to leave the key at the side of the pool. The pool hasn't been renovated in the last 25 years it seems. Looks exactly as it did when I used to go as a boy of 13/ 14 . Water was good temp and it wasn't busy . I Swam for an hr and returned to the changing rooms. Again the cubicle smelt of urine and wasn't clean at all. Moved to another which was better but still bit clean. Overall my first visit was disappointing and has made me consider moving to another facility. I chose this place because its walking distance but I may have to drive elsewhere . I will give it a few more tries as maybe I just picked the wrong day/time to go."
"Went for the soft play and found it very clean and well organised. You get a 2 hour allotted time and your receipt allows you access in and out of the area. Separate play areas for slightly older and younger children both with slides. Adults can relax at the tables and see the whole soft play area without having to enter the actual soft play."
"Recently did a 4 day free pass, used it once for swimming. The changing rooms really need to be sorted out. It is so dirty, constant drips from the ceiling, floors and changing rooms are disgusting(early morning swim 7.30am and there was wee on one of the changing room seats) Water in the pool is cold, no drinking water access anywhere in pool area like other places. Very pricey for the quality here."
"My daughter has swimming lessons here. Teachers are great. Cafe is nice. Soft play also great for keeping little ones busy. Still yet to do bowling. Great place"
