Smile Works, Carlton Chambers

"Recently stepping out of a nervous breakdown and called smile works to book in. (as you could image everything in my life was neglected ) I was told I had been removed due to missed appointments (check up appointments that I did not make myself) I asked to speak with a manager as I wanted to explain about the declining of my mental health. I spoke with Debbie I believe, who I told I was mentally Ill also informed her I did call to cancel one appointment. She was unprofessional and rudely told me “so what you missed two other appointments” I have to honestly say, whenever I have attended I have had no problem. The business is clean and usually good service. However after that I am truly disgusted my oral health is in desperate need of treatment. What is even more upsetting is smile work are aware of my mental health because when needing simple treatments I ask to be sedated due to anxiety and they have no problem referring me to the dental hospital. God forbid this happens again, I’ll remember to tell my brain to perk up. Or if smile works have any realistic suggestions I’m all ears. UPDATE: 21/02/2023 The fact that you have replied to my review but have not even sent an acknowledgment email in regards to my formal complaint, speaks volumes. I'm sorry my mental health was not on it's best behaviour and I am also sorry for not having family of friends to make the call for me. As suggested in my formal complaint, mental health training is something everyone should invest in."

"I have been with Smile Works for 4 years and this is the best practice that I have used. The premises are clean and tidy. The staff are helpful and friendly. My dentist is Ameer and he is such a great dentist. He knows his stuff, he is friendly and takes time to chat through any questions. He recently treated me for an extraction and looked after me really well. Highly recommend and wouldn’t go anywhere else."

"I thought it was a great clinic until I decided to go for a private visit somewhere else after my appointment with the hygienist. Other place confirmed that nothing has been done to my teeth by Smile Works who charged me £45 for the appointment which lasted 10min. Also Smile Works failed to spot that two of my teeth needed a root canal treatment. Initially I joined Smile Works as I wanted to have braces. I'm glad I didn't proceed with the treatment."

"It's not very often you see traditional patient service any more but it is very much alive and well here. I've had a serious problem with one of my teeth recently and they have been incredibly helpful. They have really done their best to make sure I get the best possible treatment and solution for my issue and with each visit, they repeatedly check to make sure I am not in any pain or anything. Not only that, but once the treatment is complete, the dentist always asks if I have any questions and takes the time to answer them if I do. I have never felt as though I was being rushed in or out and I am treated with kindness and respect, every time, without exception. I am so glad to be a patient there and I look forward to being a patient there for a very long time. Thank you for all that you do!"

"I’m not the greatest patient and unfortunately I needed to have a tooth extraction, a crown and a filling. I needed a total of 2 visits after my initial assessment. Aman was my dentist throughout. He was kind, patient and gentle. He put me totally at ease. He explained everything so I understood, and I felt fully informed during every visit. The procedures were pain free, and I was kept as comfortable as was possible during the work I needed. Molly ( nurse) was lovely. Friendly and chatty, but professional too. She helped made me feel calm and relaxed. The reception team at this practice are polite, friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend . I’m just sorry that I live too far away to make them my regular dentist."
