"Having read the multiple five-star reviews, we were rather disappointed with this workshop, especially with the online sales practices. We had bought two items online, based on images displayed on their website, and paid these upfront, only to then get an email "confirmation", non-chalantly informing us that the workshop would soon start making our items (?). So rather than sending us what had been sold to us as a finished and available on the basis of the images online, we were now being implicitly told that not only would we not get what we thought we bought, but that also, we should be happy to pay while having no images of what exactly they proposed we should be getting. The workshop then claimed what we had bought had been marked online as "made to order", which it hadn't. The website was only changed days after we had raised this issue, and now marks nearly all items as "made to order", which means the images don't show the actual item you would be getting, but often an unavailable one. Sadly, for the bespoke route, we cannot confirm the "above and beyond" evaluation of earlier reviews - even choosing a gold colour complimenting our stone (for a bespoke setting) seemed too much trouble for this workshop - all in all rather disappointing."

"I came to Goodman Morris to purchase my first ring (Signet for pinky) and it has come out beautifully. The process of working with Alex was a pleasure throughout. I am based in London so unfortunately I was not able to visit the shop, but he helped me through the whole process from my rough idea to narrowing it down by looking through some of his previous works as well as matching it to my current jewellery over phone conversations and email. "This is such a special place, you can tell the minute you walk in that its a bit different from all the other places in the South Laines. The owner, Alex is also the jewellery designer so you receive excellent service by someone who is genuinely interested in making his customers happy. Alex designed my engagement ring and I felt like it was a creative process that I was involved in, discussing ideas before agreeing on a sketched up design. The best part is that you get to choose your own stones before they go into the ring, safe in the knowledge or where the stones are from and that they are of the highest quality. I've come away feeling very lucky to own a unique ring, designed and made right here in Brighton by a true craftsman. All the other staff I came into contact with were really friendly too, Becky made me feel very comfortable, nothing is too much trouble, despite my many visits and requests to try things on and look at pieces to help with my design. You never feel like you are getting the hard sell at Goodman Morris, just a warm welcome."
