Reviews of The Four Courts Hostel
"It was.. well it was acceptable but I was there with a schoolclass from Germany so I suppose it's no wonder it wasn't the most relaxing Hostel."
"The staff is very friendly and humorous. The decor is nice (especially last year for Halloween). The rooms are clean and have sufficient size. Unfortunately, a window was broken, right by my bed, so it got very cold at night. However, The Four Courts Hostel is perfect for a city trip and we had a pleasant stay."
"I have been there for 4 days. The hostel was very nice and the rooms was clean. We were in a room with 6 people and all of them were kind. Also the receptionists were supportive and they suggest us some really good pubs and sightseeings. To conclude it was near to supermarkets, museums and region of temple bar."
"I’ve stayed in different hostels across the world, from the jungles of Africa, the mountains of Asia, the Alps; the Far East of Europe, Caribbean, both North & South America and all these hostel had two things in common, vibrancy and affordability. Sadly here there seems to be lack of vibrancy, there are long term residents who are bully and so rude. I don’t know if it’s because most of the time I’ll only be a person of color. I have been subjected to the most inhuman treatment so far but I’m so damn loyal to the place. The reception is on point, polite and patient folks who will assist you with anything from your booking, cancellation, extension and recommendations for place to have the best and cheapest meal. Now in terms of the rooms, know that this isn’t a 5 star hotel, the price says it all. So they are just like any other hostel, nothing fancy, only that with this one, their mattresses are too hard and solid; they aren’t comfy at all, some rooms are way too small and you hav to share two shower rooms with close to 24 people who live in two rooms adjusted to each other. This is disgusting to say the least, only in a prison can 24 people share two shower rooms. This violate all health and safety regulations Further, their breakfast is so limited and so basic, every time after eating it, I feel sick, to be honest, it’s unhygienic. The plates, cups and spoons are washed by individuals, the management or staff never clean them once in a week at the very least, so make sure you clean an item before and after using it unless you are ready to fall sick Overall rating I’ll give this place 3 star. The location is good as you aren’t far from pubs and all that."
"The Four Courts Hostel is one of the best hostels I've been to, and by this point I have been to quite a few. It's VERY safe, you have to have a different colored slip every day just to get in and the luggage room is impossible to get to if you're not a guest already. The location is super close to pretty much everything, it's like a ten minute walk to a lot of really neat places and you're right on the river. They have a lot of quality tours they can hook you up with, they do laundry there, the staff are super helpful, the free breakfasts never run out (which happens way too often at other hostels) and the kitchen has a lot of space to do your thing in! My complaints are as follows - they allow semi-permanent residents. I thought this was cool at first, but then I realized how much room they take up after they get comfortable. They'll take up one of the four sinks dedicated to twelve people and leave their stuff at the sink at all times, leaving three sinks for eleven people. They accumulate food to the point that they dominate the fridge space and they take up a ton of space on the shelves. It's not too hard to work around the semi-permanent guests, but it's an inconvenience you won't experience pretty much anywhere else. Overall - great place, good breakfast, good location, clean, safe, and comfortable to boot!"
