"Absolute disgrace. Under funded and under trained."
"They should be ashamed of themselves. They seem proud to be the leading volunteered patients in Ireland. It's mostly because it's where we patients are referred too by GP or are only opinion without going private. Plus the lack of professionalism is so far beyond help I think it's just a broken system. That's why alot of psychiatrics/doctors go private and we are stuck with these judgmental group of a system. Like how can you do this job correctly if your opinion is disrupted half way through the meeting because you never read my bio/file. How does this help anyone? I don't understand. I think it's an excuse not to do work and cut corners. Really can tell the difference between the doctors who want to help and the doctors who has either giving up themselves or just in it for the money. Before waiting two weeks. before my meeting they didn't take the time to read my file before meeting me. He didn't seem interested in his profession nor to help me. Just reading questions off his paper as quick as possible "actual policy". Probably to go back to his colleagues I heard him intensely laughing with them in the staff room while I was in the waiting room to be seen He explained he didn't want to have any bias opinion on me before hand. I don't understand why this person is in his profession if he is going to give a bias opinion if he doesn't look at there file.makes no sense (They need capable staff) I asked was it policy t to do so and they said it's just something we do here. He was staff nurse. After this I asked to speak with the "clinical Nurse manager" who I spoke with for over an hour. I was called sexist because I asked to change doctors and my issues used against me as ammunition to strong hold the conversation. After explaining my issues because they didn't read my file, I asked to file a complaint. It took a month for anybody to get back to me ***To the unprofessional we are not angry with you personal so stop taking it personal*** (i'm sure it will help people in the future) Not sure what to do now but I recommended not using the centre for living or any mental health services with cluain muire."
"Judging patients 'motivation' seeking help is incredibly insensitive. Reiterating previous experiences of the services of Cluain Mhuire a board paid to be the services to assess and treat mental health is extremely limited. Not fit for purpose. It seems all public services re HEALTH are used as training grounds and rotate swiftly. The lack of empathy and care by the board of consultants is atrocious. 'I'm sorry you feel that way' is unprofessional and does not forward any solution or care to patients. The consultants are very conservative and dominated by male figures. There is no one on one physcological supports I.e talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy or evidential supports in place to treat mental ilness. Otherwise it is a conveyor belt to prescriptions and a list of other services to refer to. Help seeking recognition for more supports is null and void, no matter how many appeals you take. Pure discrimination to recognise suffering, and care needs."
"One of the receptionists there is the rudest woman on the phone anytime I ring, she puts me on hold before I have finished my sentence, with a bark to her tone. The psychiatrist sees you for 10 minutes every 6 months and seem to not care about side effects. Its all about getting richer for drug companies and big pharma, prescribe this pill and your depression will get worse. Fortunately I am seeing a more sound psychiatrist today but he still does not have time to listen. The paradigm of care is a disgrace. Also the lady on the phone makes me nervous anytime I find I have to ring. Get rid of her, she is sooooo horrible."
"One of Cluain Mhuire's "Doctors" is directly involved in the transgender assessment service of St Columcille's Hospital. Despite the fact that the WHO already confirmed that the old-fashioned "evidence-based" evaluation of people suffering from gender dysphoria is no longer recommended and actually has a negative impact on those patients, the HSE couldn't care less. I'm still waiting for my copies under FOI and now had to request them again. In addition, the person in charge of the assessments has no relevant expertise dealing with us. The initial interview was more like an interrogation including the HSE's beloved "take it or leave it" attitude we all fancy oh so much. One can only hope that this dehumanising and undignified treatment of transgender patients will blow up right the faces of everyone involved on the HSE side at some stage in the future. Also, dear Doctor, thank you for making fun of the private service abroad I'm using instead of your horrible joke of a service. They are the reason I'm still standing, not giving up. You people had nothing to do with it."
