Reviews of The Hollybush
"Excellent food. Outstanding value for money. Highly recommend. Massive sized food portions. Go easy on tge starters to leave room for main course!"
"I’ve put 2 stars but would like to explain why. My wife and I were doing a housesit in Seighford and being only a short walk away thought it might be nice to share a bottle of Prosecco together. We were welcomed in and asked for a large bottle of Prosecco to share, the bar man was unsure and asked, who we believe to be the landlord, if this was possible. He said that although there wasn’t any in the bar fridge he had some in the back, he returned with the bottle and offered to open it for us and exchanged good hearted banter. Now at this point I should have asked the cost as once opened he said to the bar man to charge us £30 at which point the gentleman drinking at the bar in unison quipped “how much?”. I did feel that was excessive but as it was already opened felt compelled to pay. We went in the following day and ordered a pint of lager and a small 200ml bottle of Prosecco and were charged around £10.50 which doing a quick maths check would mean that 4 x 200ml bottles would be cheaper than a 750cl bottle so I asked the bartender what would a large bottle cost, she replied immediately £24. I’m sure that it was just an honest mistake but felt as newcomers we were taken advantage of. The moral of this review is ask the price before ordering, we will from now on."
"Food and Drinks came quickly, you don't have to wait ages, plus it was Amazing and I tried other Beer, which I didn't hear before!! It was awesome!!"
"Moved into the village and was really hoping to get a feel for the local vibe in the pub, and I was not disappointed!!! Amazing food (Sunday lunch) and value, superb hosting from the staff and the owner was a charm. My mum and dad LOVED it too! great quiz night. Look forward to Friday night. Thank you. Oh, and a great aesthetic interior. ❤️"
"Fantastic atmosphere and a wonderful well run carvery, hosts couldn't be any more generous, at one point asking me if I was sure I'd had enough! Mash was served fresh to order, meats were succulent and - again - fresh, beef melted in my mouth. I'm not a particular fan of roast dinners, but had taken my wife there, if this is how good a roast can be then I might just be a convert!"
