Yangaz bistro grill

"Absolutely awful. Went there with my one year old and a friend today as thought it would be good to support a local independent business - how wrong we were. My son is allergic to peanuts so I carry food for him whenever we eat out, but always try to order food from the establishment first. When I asked a member of staff for the allergens list I was told they didn’t have one and that their position is the food isn’t allergy-safe. Fine, that’s their prerogative. So I asked if it was okay for my son to have the food I brought with for him as a ‘just in case’. I always take a pre-prepared store bought food pouch so I can avoid additional contaminates for a restaurant and can provide a list of ingredients if necessary. The member of staff stated she’d have to check, then came back and said it was fine but could she have the menu back. My friend and I both assumed it was due to concern around the risk of contamination as my son was holding the menu. My friend asked the waitress to repeat, and she said could she have the menu back as it’s new and they didn’t want my son holding it as he might rip it. I hadn’t had a chance to even look at the menu by this point and given my son was literally holding it - nothing to suggest he’d rip it - and given I was now going to be unable to read said menu as they’d asked for it back my friend and I decided to leave. As I had a push chair and the doorway is very narrow I had to battle through. The manager / owner then followed us out and yelled at as in an extremely aggressive and intimidating way for leaving the door open. When I challenged back around how they’d treated my son the manager / owner’s response was “So what?” I cannot attest to what the food is like as the restaurant did not give us a chance to try it but the customer service was the most diabolical I’ve ever known. Please avoid as there are many other places in Cranleigh who are far more deserving of your money."

"We stopped here for a delicious breakfast when we passed through the town. They have a good selection of breakfasts which was really delicious and freshly made. Eggs poached to perfection. Staff were efficient and friendly. Definitely recommend."

"Good food, good service. They have a big menu so you can choose from breakfast/salads/fish/chicken/beef/lamb/nice starters and a lot of drinks like cocktails/milkshakes/sodas/alcoholic drinks. The staff working here has always a smile on and they are moving fairly quick!! Strong 5 piece for you Yangaz Bistro."
