"It’s a lovely setting but came away feeling disappointed for a few reasons as I had high hopes. Such a shame. Feel slightly robbed for the £25 waiting list fee too - no explanation to what is actually covers and after visiting many other nurseries who do not charge to be on a list I feel it’s an unnecessary fee."
"Such a special nursery. My daughter went there from 1 years till she started school. Have always felt so at ease that she's being cared for really well. And as a childcare professional myself that isn't always easy to feel)! A really unique setting with such great opportunities for learning and socialising. I love that the kids get out in all weathers. I love that it's different to other nurseries. Don't expect all the art and craft hand outs that come with other nurseries (although there are some) but do expect above and beyond care, enriching experiences and happy muddy children at the end of the day. The mix of home from home and forest/ field setting gives such a wide variety of avenues to explore for the children and I was grateful at the variety of learning my daughter achieved. I don't think it can get more fun than an adventure in a mini bus each day too. I can't rave enough about this setting..my favourite aspects are the way everyone works as a team and the children learn to gain responsibility from early on, and I so valued the detailed handover we received at the end of each day. Miss it terribly but feel fortunate there are opportunities of holiday care so we can keep in touch!"
"My son loves to be outdoors so when I was looking for childcare it was important that he was outside as much as possible. When I found Jack and Gill’s I was so excited for him and I can tell you it has not disappointed at all. He has been at Jack and Gill’s for 9 months (he is 2 and 9 months) and he absolutely loves it. He goes in happy and confident which is so reassuring and heart warming to see. The activities my son takes part in every week are unique and endless and all develop the children’s social, emotional and physical skills in a really wonderful way. And the online journal allows you to see it all through regular photos and write ups. Tonia and Brian and their team are fantastic and so supportive with everything from the settling in period to toilet training. They have created a unique and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow and i’m so happy my son is part of it."
"We absolutely love Jack and Gill's! My three years old son goes two days a week and thrives on being outdoors, learning about nature, how to use tools, care for animals and being with friends. His understanding of letters and numbers is developing thanks to the team building this knowledge into everything they do - he also learning French!! We then also send our five year old to Jack and Gill's during the school holidays. We are so pleased she gets to enjoy and experience the Forest School - best of both worlds. The team are fantastic and we would definitely recommend and have done to several local families."
"Our youngest daughter has been with Brian and Tonia since she was 18 months old and she loves every minute there. They have a fantastic setting where the children thoroughly enjoy being outdoors and thrive because of it. Come rain or shine there's a huge range of activities for them to get stuck into and I'm sure no day is ever the same! We feel that our daughter's confidence and development is in a big part down to the experiences she has at Jack and Gill's. We cannot recommend Jack and Gill's enough and will continue to send our children there for years to come!"
