Reviews of Heart of England
"Previously stayed here, it was great hence the return visit. Stayed elsewhere as fully booked but booked meal for 7.30. Ordered food and it arrived in reasonable time. Lamb shank lovely but cold at one end, carrots barely cooked. Young lad came to ask for feedback as he said they had had some issues. We decided to have dessert. At about 8.40 I went to order to be told the kitchen was closed. Very disappointed we finished our drinks and went to pay. I asked what time the kitchen closed and was told 8 o clock. I said that it really wasn't good service. At no time were we told this, why take a booking for 7.30 if no food available after 8. The lady gave us a 20% discount which I think was reasonable. All in all very disappointed and will not return."
"Friendly and great value for money. The food was delicious, though one plate was not piping hot that was still very tasty. We had starters and main course. Place was clean and tidy. We was there about 13:30 on a Saturday easily found a table close to the door as one of my party had mobility issues. Parking was OK. Plan on going back next weekend as we are passing through the area again. The veggie pie I was told was very tasty."
"Lovely pub. Coped very well with such a large party (there were 20 of us). The food was excellent, brought out in a timely fashion and a good temperature too. Staff were all friendly and reasonable prices."
"Would be rating lower than a one if that was possible. We went at lunch time. Staff where awfully rude apart from the lovely gentleman who served me on the bar. We ordered two of the lunch time menu Gammon, peppercorn sauce and a side of garlic bread and nachos. The gammon on both meals had more salt then the ocean. The nachos where just a pile of cheap nachos with awful cheap cheese micro waved on top and the garlic bread was like eating a brick with nasty cheap cheese on top. All food was served cold and by a lady with absolutely no manners. When things where missing she went to the bar to slag our custom off but we where sat close to the bar and heard every word. It was quiet on our arrival and now i understand why! Avoid, plenty of other nice places to go eat."
"Stayed here whilst away for a family wedding. Really nice place. Room we stayed in was in the old stable. Very old setting but the room was clean and tidy. Absolutely fantastic comfy beds. Had food in the pub which was very nice aswell. Would definitely recommend this place. Door food and to stay here. Great location for many places and the Grand Union canal."
