Reviews of The Kings Head and The Barn Tearoom
"Just had Christmas breakfast with Santa at The Kings Head. The food was amazing and the service was perfect. Took a beautiful stroll by the river and then warmed up with mulled wine and hot chocolates. Then Santa brought personalised presents for the kids and visited them during breakfast. If you have never been before or are just stuck for something to do, I cannot recommend this place enough."
"Very dissapointed, after booking using a voucher I had been bought for my birthday I called and booked an afternoon tea. And I explained I have a nut allergy when they asked about any allergies. On the day the few sandwiches came out, and then the cake plate the bottom plate had a almond cake with macaroon on it. Luckily my partner tasted it first. As my allergy isn't just a upset tummy I have an anaphylaxis shock that would have closed my throat had I eaten it. They took the first plate away and brought a plate removing big slices of cake and replacing a small cube of cake. The food was nice but that's a serious mistake to make. And just say I'm sorry! I don't think it's a value for money but nice as an expensive treat as long as you don't die."
"Really Nice and Peaceful place. It's Great looking down at the river on terrace or balcony what ever it's called. The Food there is Great. The Steak and Ale pie was very nice with great amount of meat in it and Pastry all round. Flavours was great and was Homeade as well. Would come again"
"I had cream tea in the river side garden on a "summers day in spring". It was a very pleasant environment, in an interesting and historic village with a nature reserve close by. The tea and scone was very nice. I ordered in the tea room and went into the bar to find the toilet. Staff were friendly and helpful. A minor shortfall was the gents toilet was a little smelly (common in pubs) and paper towels had run out recently judging by to the wet paper towels in the bin. I will enjoy a return visit and will investigate the menu more."
