"We spotted this location by accident as we passed and were drawn in by the words "Factory Shop". Lots of seasonal items on sale and we bought some factory seconds at 2 for £10. We didn't partake of the cafe, which is quite small, but it appeared to have some good menu choices. Massive car park and easy to find just off the motorway make it a good location to visit. Shop till was a little slow, the member of staff could have done with some assistance but otherwise a great visit."
"The food is limited to cake, chocolate and ice-cream. So, not a place to stop for a snack. Service from the staff today was great. Friendly and helpful. They even didn't put milk in the tea before it was brewed. Which if you are a tea drinker, you find that stops it from brewing properly. Well done. Then she asked if I would like to put in my own so as not to add more than we wanted. Excellent! Atmosphere was relaxed. As a factory shop I would expect some discount on the retail price, but not the case, so the only reason to visit would be a larger selection of chocs then you might get in a small high street or railway station shop shop."
"Hotel chocolat , has a well stocked shop, with friendly staff, some cheaper stock , with all the usual stuff. The cafe was nice , helpful staff helped us choose what to have, the chocolate drinks are lovely and there was a reasonable amount of seating."
"Very disappointing. Visited in early Nov.22. It all starts when you arrive, Large car park and an enormous warehouse unit. Then you realise there is a queue to get inside, until someone in the queue who has visited before tells you the queue is for the cafe, not to enter the shop. They really need a queueing system for the cafe or signage. Once inside is not much better. The store was busy and far too small considering the size of the warehouse unit. Lots of products on offer and some product tasting was available. There is only 1 toilet in the corner of the store which is totally inadequate for a cafe. Due to how busy the store was, we were having to avoid people queuing for the toilet whilst browsing. Claiming this is a factory shop is misleading. Its not a factory shop, The prices are the same as a normal shop. The only reductions were for limited products with short expiry dates. The cafe was really busy with a long queue and prices were as you would expect in a coffee shop chain. The only positive i have is It is really easy to get to just off M1 J16 which is why it is soo popular. Large free car park and there are loads of BP Pulse ev charge points, however none were in use (doesn't surprise me). I don't think we would visit again."
