"When we walked in, the people queuing behind us got seated first. Then we got seated at the coffee table next to someone else who was waiting for a friend. Then we got moved to a table at which we waited for our food. The tea we received was weak, despite the two tea bags. The milk jug didn't pour well. After waiting for 40 minutes and seeing only 5 sandwiches emerge from the kitchen the whole time, we gave up and had to ask for a refund as our parking was nearly up. The cashier looked as confused as he did taking orders and tried to say moving table was the reason we didn't get served. He just about managed an apology as we walked out. I don't think any of the staff looked or acted organised or prepared. And it can only come down to poor management and lack of training. Rush job to open doesn't always pay off."
"Lovely cosy place for a coffee and a little bite to eat! Staff and service was brilliant, would recommend anyone in Northampton to pop in if they have the chance. Fantastic!"
"Oh dear. Hopefully they'll iron out the problems as it's very early days but - coffee was really bland. Having asked when ordering if an extra shot was adviseable if you like reasonably strong coffee the staff member looked terrified and coudn't answer, so asked another staff member. Finally I ordered WITH the extra shot. It was tasteless. My friend sent back her hot chocoalate as it was so bland. Having booked our table in advance it was a surprise to be asked to move tables! Having booked and having been shown to this table, why should we? Then we were told "There's only two of you". Way to make us feel wanted! As it turned out, the people he wanted to seat at our small table were 'just' a couple also. I'd really like to see this iconic Northampton cafe thrive - but they have a lot to think about (including the errors on the menu). Were you really ready to open?"
