Reviews of Zaza Grill
"Great food, yummy pastries and cakes but yeah the management is a bit of a mess. They dont really know what they are doing and the type of service is a bit of a mix between counter and table service which I think confuses everyone. Orders are wrong and lost quite often. You have to pay at the entry till where everyone is queuing to sit down. Some staff also come across a little rude. Could be 5 star with good management."
"I was tempted in by the array of cakes visible in the window. I ordered a cake and a pot of tea. The cake was very nice and kept fresh by the cling film wrapping. The tea was hot, strong and served with sugar sachets but with what I call a Turkish coffee cup. So I got two and a half cups out of the pot. All great so far. The price for the tea on the black board behind the counter £2.00. When the assistant rang up my bill it was £5.50. I questioned the prices. She showed me the receipt. £3.50 for a pot of tea. More than all the coffees and hot chocolate on the blackboard. She said "give me five pounds then". I paid the £5.50. I think I'll try out other places in town before here again."
"This place is the best. I literally wanted to order and scoff every single piece of food that was on display- it all looked delicious and the presentation is amazing. I will be in here every weekend with a coffee (the best I've ever had) and a pastry. Haven't tried the hot food yet but I'm sure that's great too. My only complaint is (as I think a few others have said), the staff are nice, but highly disorganised and they don't seem to have a proper system yet, so it makes it difficult to order anything. Am I sitting down to order?? Am I going to the counter?? Are they bringing me the food or am I waiting?? Does it depend on what kind of food you want?? I'll do whatever, but just make it clear to customers what your system is. TLDR; The food and drinks are so delicious, please make it easier for me to obtain them!!!"
"This has terrific potential and it's only been open a few months so give it a little time! The food was lovely. However, it's not quite a cafeteria system and not a waitress service restaurant but somewhere between. It doesn't work. The poor staff who work there are chasing their tails, not knowing who ordered what. We got our order eventually after finding the lady who took our order originally and pointing out the missing items. Meanwhile other staff kept visiting our table trying to find the home for some frothy coffees that we didn't order. We would have ordered a little more but it was just going to take too long. The other problem is that some items don't have any price showing. There are some lovely looking cakes and savoury pastries, but the price list on the wall only covers drinks, paninis and sandwiches. When they get it organised, it will be great."
"I went here a few days ago, the lack of communication between the staff was awful, it was rather amusing to watch it unfold, several times I saw the staff asking who the drinks were for, food etc, they were getting orders mixed up (not just ours). One of the ladies from the panini part told me I shouldn’t ask several staff for an order when they produced us with a second panini which I hadn’t, they got themselves confused by making me and the person I support pay before and after our orders. When I asked for a receipt due to the nature of work I do, one of the staff rolled her eyes at me. Most of them were incredibly unprofessional and rude, I believe this place will go to pot sooner or later and someone better will take their place."
