Reviews of Waterstones
"A fantastic selection of books covering a massive selection of subjects, genres and tastes. For me, their Graphic Novel, Science Fiction and Fantasy and Music sections are outstanding. Whether you're looking to reread a classic or find something new, you're covered. The Coffee Shop on the 1st floor is also excellent. Always a good cuppa. Again, with a good variety of tastes covered in Coffees and Teas. The Cakes are always delicious too. With lovely, knowledgeable, passionate and friendly staff there too, it's an always enjoyable shopping experience"
"The building was like every other Waterstones so it is quite sad the experience was ruined by disrespectful staff. I was yelled at for not buying from the café while sitting there. If he had simply explained the situation I wouldn’t feel a need to write such a scathing review. If you have the option of going to another, I would encourage it to avoid an encounter with such a rude man."
"Today I went in to the shop (which is architecturally beautiful) to purchase an Almanac, the two shop assistants I saw were talking loudly across the shop to one another. They both acknowledged my existence with a glance in my direction, and still carried on with their conversation. When I said ‘excuse me’ I was met with a look of contempt from both women. One of the women shouted to me from the cash register, that they may have one in the nature section, told me it was upstairs and continued with their conversation. I felt more of an inconvenience to them than a customer. I do hope MANAGEMENT, see this and address this behaviour from their staff. Rudeness is not acceptable, staff are paid to give customer care, not sit on the floor and chat about other staff members."
"I went to Waterstones (Swansea) to collect x1 book I’d ordered and unknowingly x2 books I’d ordered was awaiting collection. A book on the the counter was the book of the month and the synopsis caught my eye. So this was added to my pile, however it was buy 1 get 1 half price! So off I went in search of another book. In doing so I discovered a box full of SALE books. So sale book added to the pile and then found one to get for half price. Came for 1 book and left with 5! Store and shelves were immaculately tidy, store was moderately busy but staff still had time for all customers. Staff were welcoming, very helpful and knowledgeable about the books I wished to preorder."
"I love a book shop and sadly as I don't know of any independent ones other than a small shop in the mumbles Waterstones is my go to. Laid out beautifully, always welcoming, good prices and recommendations. Love love love it."
