Reviews of Pontardawe Primary Care Centre
"The worst surgery I have come across in all my 80yrs. Have to give a star just to get through!! Otherwise I would not give any stars disgraceful demeaning and no sympathy."
"Close to impossible to get through on the phone to them I’ve been “caller number one” for over 20 minutes"
"I don't use this service much but the last time I did (November 2017), I had an excellent experience. I called them in the morning and gave a description of my symptoms to a very helpful lady on reception. A Dr called me back within the hour and asked me to attend the centre to give a sample. I had to fill in a symptom form and handed it in to reception. The Dr then called me back around 3hrs later to give me my diagnosis and told me a prescription had been sent to the pharmacy to be picked up. This telephone triaging worked very well in my case and I imagine it must free up a bit of time for the Drs to see the more urgent patients. All staff I had contact with were very friendly and helpful. And the centre is well maintained and clean."
"This is the worst system ever..i hate having ro call them how can they diagnos what is wrong with you over the phone..itß all about saving money not the patient....i would not give them 1 star but had to....."
"I totally agree. There is a triage system in place the doctors take so long to get back to you, if you are working you need to take the day off as you need to chase the doctors. The doctors then make recordings saying they have phoned you and left a message on your answerphone, they have difficulty doing that as I do not have an answer phone. When you try to speak to the practice manager he refuses to take your calls saying he will phone you back , if you ask to see him when you are in the surgery, he is on lunch and he does not return any calls. The service discriminates against anyone who has medical needs and if they work as you need to take annual leave off from your place of work as it takes you all day to try and get to see a GP or you can be phobed off by seeing a nurse. I don't want to give 1 star but the review wont let me post it until I click on at least 1 star"
