"This is a difficult post to write as yesterday we went for our early pregnancy scan and were told she couldn't find a heartbeat. The whole experience was traumatic enough but the way this was handled made it much worse. My initial scan was 3 weeks ago where just the GS and YS were seen with a small flicker of grey attached. Putting us around 4 weeks instead of 7 weeks which we thought we were from last period. We were asked to return in 3 weeks (yesterday). Everything had grown. Fetus at 6mm but couldn't work out shape just a grey blotch. Then we were told sorry I can't find a heartbeat and scan was over like that! The whole appointment was done in the alloted 15 mins even with this news. The sonographer didn't actually say I had miscarried....I had to ask as she just said a heartbeat couldn't be found. Once she confirmed I was right it took about a minute for them to get me, husband and daughter out the door. All we had was an envelope with a cheap leaflet in about pregnancy loss. There was no comforting, no asking if we had any questions, no second opinions, no questions asked, no time given to us and the actual vaginal scan itself lasted less than a minute. It felt like they were rushing to finish by 11:30 as it was a Sunday. We left there shocked with so many questions that weren't answered. It was like she didn't want to try for us. Time was up! Have a scan with the hospital due now to confirm they were correct. Won't be using these again. Not the best service or patient care."

"I had an 8 week scan and also a 16 week gender scan. Excellent service both times, the ladies doing the scan were really lovely and helped ease my anxiety about having a scan due to a previous loss. She explained everything she could see, gave me plenty of time to look at the baby and heartbeat, and gave plenty of photos and some videos. It was well worth the money seeing that everything was okay and I'm sure I'll go a third time during this pregnancy."
