"I ordered a Rae Feather basket on 1st July which was showing in stock. I wanted it personalised and so I knew it would take a couple of weeks. After 6 weeks with no news I decided to follow up, and was then told that they had a stock issue with the basket and I should have been notified (which I hadn’t). I needed the basket for a holiday 3 weeks later, so they promised me an update at the start of the following week. When this didn’t come I followed up again, and was again told ‘I should have had an update’. They couldn’t guarantee it in time. I fed back my concerns about their customer service as a premium brand and asked for a refund. The reply didn’t even acknowledge my concerns to say they would be taken into account in the future, but just said ‘I’m sorry you are horrified by your experience’. Don’t bother buying from here. You can’t trust their stock and supply chain, and their customer service is terrible."

This wasn’t my first purchase and I’ve found on every occasion I’ve ordered anything Rae and her team (shout out to the lovely Debbie) have provided an amazing fabulous customer service experience …. they honestly can not do enough to help. "Earlier this year I made my first order with RF. The bag I was drawn to was a canvas shopper at £220. To start with the customer service was helpful. The website is very clear that personalised items are non refundable. After scouring the Internet for some additional pictures, I was unable to locate any and they sent me further photos which confirmed to me that I wanted the bag. I then went to place the order and signed up for the 10% off welcome code where I found that the website was attempting to charge me for £10 for delivery. I thought this was a little extreme- most high brands have this factored in their pricing (bearing in mind this was a £220 canvas bag) and also I believed this was more then what their own website said. I communicated this to customer services and they then passed a 15% off code to counteract the difference. I then called the office and placed the order. As I had signed up I started to receive their brand emails and approximately 6 days later saw that my bag had been placed in a ‘sale’. At this time I had not even received it and was a little taken aback. Yes I was new to the brand but I thought I was buying a classic item and not something that would go in the sale. I felt a little let down that I had verbally placed the order so was placing it when the other party knew it was going straight into a sale. Yes they are a business but it’s also about not making the customer feel disappointed by the interaction. I emailed customer services and they agreed to refund the difference. A short time later my bag arrived. As soon as I pulled it out of the packaging I noticed bubbling in the leather handle. It was obvious and clearly a fault on the item. I look after my handbags and the last thing I wanted was to have something that was faulty.. As instructed, I tried to massage the bubbles out but this was not possible (not that I should even be having to do this on a brand new ‘£220’ bag). When this would not work I was advised to send it back to the company who would try and rectify it. Therefore, I proceeded to have to waste my own time to drive to the post office, queue and return the item. I was then advised there was nothing that could be done. The bag was sold out and they could not get a new handle. As much as I hated having a faulty item- I loved the bag and knew it was either that one or nothing. I was advised that I could have the bag back for what was described as the ‘cost price’ of £70. I thought this was ridiculous for an item where the fault was so obvious and could be seen as I carried it. I asked for this to be looked at as I didn’t think it was fair to pay this much for a faulty item but I was advised It was their lowest offer! I again wrote and stated I was happy to pay £50 due to the fault but if not I would have to take the refund. I was advised I could not have it at this price. It literally felt like my bag was being held to ransom-I was asked to send it back for repair not that I would never see it again! I was then inconvenienced by having to sort out my refund after mistakes were made returning my money. When I stated in an email I had had nothing but hassle since placing this order and all over a bag no one else would want- I WAS ADVISED IN LESS THEN 24 HOURS THEY ALREADY HAD A BUYER FOR A FAULTY BAG WITH MY UNUSUAL INITIALS! Of course I thought this was was untrue as it seemed extremely unlikely and very poor customer service to now lie. I have seen how many bags the brand gift on social media and here we had a paying customer not being allowed her bag back for the sake of a £20 difference! Since this time I have watched their social media convinced I would see the bag again probably gifted. Perhaps one lesson from this story is if you are going to lie to a customer (I still have the email in black & white)...watch your instastories. My bag has never left the office- featuring once before lockdown and once during (to right of window under pin board). I have never been so disappointed in a brand and the way they deem it acceptable to treat a paying customer."
