Goodies Food Hall

"We were given as Xmas presents vouchers for Goodies but did not know the place as only recently moved to Suffolk. Goodies is just over the border in Norfolk so went along to see what is. A pleasant surprise was the shop stocking everything you might need from your local shop but with the added bonus of having a deli counter and a in house butcher. They had a freezer section as well a fresh vegetable section. Whilst there we stop to have a coffee in their cafe which is like a relaxed restaurant. We were so impressed in what we had as a mid afternoon snack we went back the next day for lunch. My wife had the two course menu option which included a glass of wine (Feb Special) for £20 I had something off the specials menu and a separate dessert with 2 x bottle of water and a extra glass of wine all came to £50. The food was excellent and would definitely try their fine dinning nights they run on a Friday. If have not been here to shop or eat we would recommend you do."

"Such a gem and only down the road from me. Having recently moved into the area l made my first visit just two days before Christmas to pick up some goodies for a hamper l was making for a present. There was certainly no shortage of choice! Found lots of unusual sweet and savoury treats. I also tried the sausage rolls and scotch eggs which were excellent. A lovely lady serving me printed out ingredient lists due to my having allergies. All the staff l met were friendly and helpful. Lovely fresh local produce. Next time l need to try the cafe!"

"Amazing service and food. My ham salad was in a bowl. Gorgeous slices of thick cut ham, mixed leaf salad and potato salad. Mum had ham, egg and triple cooked chips which she thoroughly enjoyed. My husband had bite size haddock and scampi with chips. He is a connoisseur of chips and regarded these as one of the best. Will definitely visit again."

"This is one of those places where I wish there was a six star option. I visited earlier today with two of my kids on the way to Norwich. We were all super impressed with the restaurant, service and food. My two kids had the gnocchi and I had the halibut and scampi. We will definitely visit again."

"I normally find restaurants in food halls to be over priced and the food adequate at best, BUT Goodies is the exception. OMG, the food is amazing. I really wish I had a picture for you. I ate the Bacon Chop from the specials menu. The bacon was thick, just salty enough and cooked perfectly. The savoy cabbage and new potatoes had a hint of tarragon and mustard that really wanted me to eat more. The star of the plate had to be the sweet baby onions which I think I could eat forever. I think there was a touch of aniseed with the onions but I'm not 100% sure. The whole plate just came together in a taste explosion that I won't forget in a hurry. We weren't planning on dessert, but we decided to purely on the basis of how good the mains were. The cheesecake was good, the biscuit base could have been a bit dryer and firmer, but the cake filling was tasty. The little sprigs of mint really topped it off though. Not a dessert to rush, but to savour. Suffice it to say, the staff were super helpful and cheerful. All in all, a very pleasant experience that I hope to repeat the next time we pass."
