"I did not have a good experience with them. During my stay the ceiling leak water and dripped on the floor. I reported signs of this earlier and it was not fix until a week later. When I left, they charged me to replace the electric heater I never used and paint and light bulb that was never present on arrival. Essentially if you want a house with no support, and your deposit remodels when you leave go with this company."
"I couldn’t believe how quickly Houseen found tenants for my property once it was ready to be rented within 2 weeks of signing up tenants had moved in. Great service; someone was always at the mother end of the phone if I had any queries. I would definitely recommend Houseen to any landlord."
"I did not really have a very good experience with Houseen. Despite paying a fortune for the place, these guys were pretty consistently rude and unhelpful. Equality win? I found that the contractors sent round were friendly but honestly half-a*sed the job most of the time, created a whole new issue entirely, or disappeared with the promise they'd come back, but never do; a harsh reminder of my relationship with my father. I also found a lot of the larger but serious maintenance requests I put in would be answered to but never actually solved in the end. Who knows where they ended up. Most damningly I noticed that the property I rented had a lot of issues which were simply covered up by wardrobes or makeshift panels that fall off if you kick them lightly. Ergo, I had to unknowingly live in an environmental hazard for 2 years. I get the impression that Houseen rushes dealing with issues way too much, they need to slow down and put in a bit more care. Closing thoughts: these guys are your standard property management charlatans, so do your due diligence with any of their properties – don't get shafted like me – check every nook and cranny, don't expect to feel "at home" with Houseen."
"Very understanding of students. I had visa related issues which was complex as it was an uncommon circumstance and they were able to resolve it. The office staff are reliable as they responde quickly within open hours."
"EDIT: eventually got our deposit back with a large portion of money taken out of it - charged us for having to move some plants on the balcony, but looking on the balcony, being in a very public area, we can see the plants are all still there. So just some more scamming from one of the worst letting agents in Brighton. Do not rent through them. Of course most of the positive reviews here come from landlords not tenants! Avoid. The team seem nice enough, but slow to respond to issues within the the property we rented. We had a broken shower for close to two months. They also left us for months with no news on whether we could renew the contract after we had requested to stay another year. When they finally did respond they told us we could stay but with a severe raise in price per month. This meant we had not been looking for elsewhere and gave us very little time to find somewhere new or face having nowhere to live at all. They have also held our deposit upon move out for close to a month - with no update on how much we'll get back."
