Reviews of SoBo Guest House
"I have stayed at this hostel a few times now. The first 2 times the room has been nice and has a little but of space so doesnt feel too cramped. However this round I was in 6 bed female dorm as usual but the room was very small, barely any room to walk around in and certainly not big enough for 7 people to staying in. The bedding has also changed and is a lot less comfortable. The plus side being it's cheap and good value for money and a local bakery brings in cakes/bread in the evening."
"We stayed in one of the private triple rooms here on Saturday night. We turned up at 7pm having not booked. The girl on reception was hugely helpful and had a fab attitude. She let us see the room before we bought it after I explained we had had bad experiences with hostels before. The room was clean with bunk beds with a double on the bottom and a single on the top. There were biscuits, tea and coffee provided as well as a continental breakfast of scones and bread, yogurts and juices that we could prepare ourselves in the morning. There was plenty of space and storage. Previous reviews talk about the noise, but we weren't disturbed. The only thing that could be better was the bathroom could do with a bath mat and a hand towel, but that is me being picky. Overall for £49 for the night having not booked in advance including breakfast in a room that could have slept 3 people it was ideal for a night out in Hove."
"We have stayed here before and we were happy with the place so we gave it another try. Just as good this time. We enjoyed the view from our room, on the top floor. Check in was very smooth when we arrived. Staff was really nice and helpful with directions and recommendations. Got our room code and were able to leave our bags and go check-out the beach which is 3 minutes’ walk from the location. There is also a gym and swimming pool nearby. Breakfast was as expected. Will come here again!"
"Having stayed here for one week and booked another two, I am very pleased with my stay, the facilities, the staff and the atmosphere. I find it surprisingly clean and comfortable considering other hostels I have stayed in at a similar price. The included breakfast is basic but saves a lot of money and hassle. The en-suite bathroom and friends I have made in my dorm make it seem as though I am staying in a hotel instead of a budget hostel. It's running is efficiently carried out by friendly staff. The hostel has a healthy amount of newcomers and long-stayers, creating a homely atmosphere that is also vibrant, giving occasion to chance meetings and spontaneous gatherings. I am sincerely grateful to have chosen this hostel and would recommend it for anyone looking for a decent place to stay for a low price in Brighton."
