The Chalk Venue

"Attended an 80's music night last Friday. The venue itself is perfect for music. A real bonus was the €4 drinks all night. We had a great time, the 7 piece band was fantastic and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. There are great tribute bands on every week, so do yourself a favour and grab a ticket on their website. You will not be disappointed."

"If I could give less than 1* I would, after a great night in school house to then move onto Chalk, friends who didn’t drink as they were driving were told they were too drunk to come in / not tonight pal etc, while others walked past us falling over and were let in straight away. I came out to meet the friends who weren’t getting in as half the large party was inside already, and tried to explain to the bouncer that he isn’t drinking he’s driving but they laughed together and said look at the state of him no chance no chance, so the few they didn’t let in decided to return to school house but was then told no to going back in there too and when asked why, explained that we’ve come a long way down please stop ruining the night on us the answer was no I don’t like the look of him. Seriously need a reconsideration on your bouncers here as they’re letting down the business hugely. While waiting for our lift home outside then we watched as 5/6 of them tackled a man, lift him up by the legs and throw him downs and hold him to the ground last night when he was not being aggressive in any way just drunk and was willing to move on but instead was pinned and Garda called on him. I personally won’t be back to this establishment and wouldn’t suggest anyone to waste their money in here"

"Fantastic place for a night out, Now... if you want to have nice music, don't go upstairs, well... there is some nice music but the Dj, is always doing some mess with every single song. Please leave the songs alone if you are not improving them!!!!"
