Reviews of Fable + Stey
"An exceptional local cafe open from breakfast to late-ish lunchtime. There's a new menu, that's just been introduced, and there's a good selection of sourdough and wrap sandwiches, with toasted options, as well as a daily soup option. Granola and porridge are the mainstays of the breakfast offering, both great. The porridge is worth a special mention, as it's topped with cacao granola. It's a giarnormous portion though, and it would be great if they did a 1/2 size version for anyone dashing on a commute. While it's a decent, and quality breakfast offering, it is limited, and we'd like to see an egg dish - or two added, both for eat-in and take-away. Not unlike Winnies in Booterstown, another lovely local cafe, the team are always as helpful as they are cheery with that very local feel. While Winnies have the knitting and arts + crafts additions, Fable + Stey also sell a small amount of gourmet food. These look lovely and are fairly priced, and include oils and the lovely Portuguese Minerva sardines. However it would be great to see them perhaps increase the number of products on offer as then you'd be able to assemble a gourmet hamper for someone, even yourself maybe, on a Friday evening. Coffee is virtually perfect, and the bean has a lovely slow roast aroma with a vague touch of caramel but is pleasantly strong. Whether breakfast or lunch, gluten free and veggie requirements are amply catered for. While it's a good stroll (20 mins) from Blackrock village, it's really worth it, as it leaves anything there, or Monkstown very much in the shade. Roll on a Sunday brunch menu!"
"lovely people, great coffee and this jumbo sausage roll is huge and yummy"
"Excellent little place for vegetarian breakfast. Small selection of top quality food. Open I think 9 till 3pm. Very popular with local people getting a coffee to sit outside or take away."
"One of the best coffee is found here!! The very unique thing found here in menu is “Babyccino”"
