"Had a disappointing experience a couple of months ago. The cold tap was used to wash my hair and when I asked if it could be warmer, it blasted out scalding hot water. I feel like this could have been avoided, as the person washing my hair could also feel the temperature. I was then told off during the cut for making small movements with my head when my chin was pressed down to my neck while tiny cuts were made. It would have been fine with the odd break. Apparently moving would give me a wonky cut. It was uncomfortable - I was getting cramp. The bouncy blow dry involved having several heavy brushes hanging painfully from my scalp for some time, which resulted in flat hair and a tender scalp, as the weight pulled the strands taut. Random strands were curled with tongs (I have naturally curly hair). I don't know if that's a typical technique but I haven't experienced it in 30+ years. The cut is growing out okay but at the time, it looked boxy and unflattering for my face shape. I was left alone in the empty salon and had to see myself out as everyone was chatting in the back. I'll go back to my usual hairdresser next time. I really wanted to love this place after seeing all the good reviews. Maybe it was a bad day?"

"I've only been twice, and I'm now a customer for life. The people who work here are amazing. Here's why: 1. I went in for a bouncy blow out, but my hair is super fine and it didn't hold the curl, so they redid it, even though it ended up running 20 minutes after closing. It looked great when I left :) 2. There are no mirrors. So, so much better. 3. I mentioned I need wedding hair done for my bridal party and me, and they took me to the area downstairs and spent time talking about how it could work. The best part? They don't charge an insane amount for wedding hair, they charge the regular amount. I mean... Thank you for recognizing that because I'm getting married, the cost of the same hairstyle shouldn't cost £200 more! Go to this salon. It's fantastic."

"The safest hands for hair colouring and styling! I’ve had balayage, toner and cut and blow dry at the salon and each time the stylists go out of their way to ensure the best experience. Even when I wasn’t 100% happy with a toner shade, Millie didn’t hesitate to take the time to run through colour options with me and amended the toner with no extra cost! So grateful that the girls at Its Science took the time to give me a perfect result, wouldn’t go anywhere else xx"

"I have visited the salon several times to have my hair coloured. Most of these have been complex colour corrections (due to not dying my hair during covid and pregnancy) and I have been so impressed by the professionalism and knowledge of the staff. Everyone is really passionate about what they do and give honest, non-judgmental advice about hair care and colour options (something I definitely haven't always experienced from salons in the past when you can't get your roots done every 6 weeks). I live in London, but always book to have my hair coloured here when I'm visiting family in Wales because I really rate the service."
