Reviews
"Myself and my partner visited Mediterraneo Delicatessen for an evening meal having read reviews on trip advisor and were not disappointed. The café is really small but really cosy and having opened just for us we were given a very warm welcome by the owner Giorgio. The food was very tasty and certainly very different to the menus in most Italian restaurants in the UK. The best thing about the restaurant is the hospitality you receive from the owner, it felt like we were having dinner at a friends house. We wanted to go back the next day for a coffee and only didn’t because of the weather."
"The food looks lovely, but I didn't try it. The drink was perfectly fine. But, my god, I have never been so physically uncomfortable in a pub! The benches around the edge all have a hard wooden lip just below shoulder height to average height shoulders, forcing you to lean forward in an uncomfortable position. The plus side side to this is that it forces you to look down upon whoever you're with on the other side of your table. This is good because you really do have to; every single chair in this place is 3-5 inches shorter than the seat height of the benches. This is bad. Whoever has the misfortune of landing on the seat will, by the end of the first drink, have an awful crick in their neck from being forced to either stare at their drinking buddy's chest, or up their nostrils! I still ache. I won't be going back."
"You’ll probably find some better pubs in Brighton, but we didn’t have time to hunt them out as the weather was awful. Drinks were good, it’s a cosy place and deceptively big. A decent option for a couple of hours and we didn’t struggle to get a booking. There seemed to be a huge number of staff on though, but no one available to clear our table and we had to queue for ages at the door to get seated. Didnt see the food so not sure what it’s like. It was very quiet on a Sunday evening, but probably more to do with covid etc."
"I had a cheese and spinach pattie which was very disappointing it had a tiny amount of filling, in comparison to my friend's chicken one, there wasn't 5% the amount. This meant that it had very little flavour and felt very overpriced. I did not raise this with the staff. I also had a medium mixed salad and a chorizo bread, both of which were very tasty and appropriately priced. Equally, the long black coffee that I had was okay, too. Overall I was happy with my visit and would be happy to return. I would recommend this place for a lunch or snack. The staff were very pleasant. The place is very small with only three tables, so might be difficult to sit and eat."
"Cute place in Brighton. It kind of brought back memories from my Spain trip."
