"I'm an infrequent customer to this business, but generally have been very satisfied with their specialist stock and helpful service. No so much today though. Went in for a few nuts which only came to 45p. Discovered I only had a £20 note or a card to pay. Was told that they apply a minimum purchase of £1.50 for card payments (not illegal - but definitely against the rules of the card companies). So handed over the £20 but a second later found a £1 coin in the bottom of a pocket. Obviously the staff member wanted my £20 note which was still in his hand. Too late he said and proceeded to load me up with change. Why it was too late when my note hadn't even gone into the open till - only he would know. He wasn't able to look me in the eye and give any explanation. I'm sure they're not going to be missing my trade. But very disappointing to receive this kind of service from a shop that I really quite liked...."
