"Supposedly had sourced and offered me genuine OME alloys from an Audi dealership they did work for! Paid £515.00 by bank transfer! Never received any alloys! Refund offered but never paid. Countless false promises! 2 months on they've got my hard earned cash whilst it looks like I've been scammed....No response/reply to numerous emails! Tried to reclaim by my banks intervention but no money in their account! Police Scotland investigated, now passed to Action Fraud Team & Sussex Police!!! Citizens Advice recorded letter sent but nothing! So Legal proceedings now started!!!!! If they are genuine, I wouldn't touch with a barge pole........ Shocking how they may treat a client!!!!"
"Terrible, terrible, terrible! Everybody beware!! Anybody who gives positive rating is clearly part of their bunch. I bought groupon for all 4 wheels. On arrival to site, i discovered they did not take a note of my booking.. The man i dealt with suggested i upgrade and pay extra, to get them "fully" refurbed. I told them i pick the car up in 3 days, as i had work commitments. I was promised to b picked up drom the station, as it was very far to walk. On day 3 i gave them a call to say i was coming only to b told the lacquer is still wet and they don't recommend driving. Day 4: gave them a call afrer work, advising i was coming to pick the car up and asked for promised pick up. But no, he could not pick me up, as somebody needs to answer phones. What a load of bullsh.. Day5: i asked a friend to drive me. When picking up the car i found out some work has been done, but not at all the full refurb as ordered. The alloys are still flakeing, they sprayed them over the dirt that was on them, they also sprayed on the tyres, i wonder if all of those tyres were off the alloys. Some must have been, as they put them back on wrong way round, as the rotation arrow points backwards. They also lost a couple of centre caps. The lying piece of work promised he'd refund me what i payed extra and the rest i'll get from Groupon. He lied and lied and lied. First he said he had to pay half of what i paid extra to Groupon, therefore he can only give me the other half. After a phone call he said he'd give the whole amount back. Still no sign of it. Rest assured, i will b contacting Trading standards as promised. This bunch of losers caused me nothing but trouble, as i need the car to get to work in very unsocial hours, so public transport is non existent. I had no use of car for 5 days, yet the job was nowhere near satisfactory and the wheels are worse then they were."
"Although I had seen the Groupon offer I had already found the company when thinking about having my wheels refurbished previously so went to Express Alloys direct. The Groupon offer was quite specific in what the deal was and on taking the car in for assessment I was advised to go beyond the basic service anyway and to have the wheels acid dipped and powder coated. My expectations for a pristine result were not high as the wheels on my 11 year old Previa were in an awful condition. The lacquer was long gone and 50% of the surface was actually corroded looking like a black fungus (look at any 2004/5 Previas and you will see how bad they get). When stripped a crack was discovered in one wheel and I accepted the advice to have that repaired (welded at cost price by a specialist company). That in itself was worth the trouble of having the wheels overhauled as it was a leak just waiting to happen at some inconvenient time in the future. Due to the poor initial condition one of the wheels does have a very slightly pitted finish. Express Alloys did completely retry the treatment on that wheel to overcome the pitting to no avail and the reason was explained to me. It did take longer than the original estimate for reconditioning all 4 wheels but then, with retrying the coating and the additional welding it was a longer job than anticipated and it was still done for the original quoted price. I was kept informed of progress along the way (even a call on Sunday evening as they have understandably had a spike in workload) Overall I am delighted with the service and the finish. The colour advised by Express (silver) is perfect for the car (also silver) and I can now park the car in public places without shame :-) I have no hesitation in recommending them, and not just for boring old Previas. I also have an S2000 which I am more picky about (just had some minor bubbling rust treated - and not just rubbed down but cut out and replaced) on which the wheels will need refurbishing at some point in the future and Express will get that business when the time comes. Many thanks guys."
"Cowboys - I don't normally do reviews, please read if you are considering using these cowboys. We got a groupon deal, after finally getting hold of the guy arranged to take the car in and was promised it would be done in one day. The job was quite simple, refurb, same colour. Simple you would think for a wheel refurbishing specialist. After a multitude of excuses and lack of communication we were told the car was ready and he had left it at the complex with the key on the wheel. We turned up to see the car inside the complex on axle stands, so clearly lied to when was told the car was ready the previous day. Spoke to the guy who was there, straight away started with the excuses - It was too wet to put the wheels on to start. Anyway was worried as he started to put the wheels back on. One problem, they were a completely different colour. Silver not gunmetal grey as they were. Tyres were covered in paint. He dropped a wheel and scratched it - probably worse than when it was left there. The paint on the centre caps was peeling and patchy too. He offered to sort the wheel he dropped if we took it back another time, apparently would only take an hour - not a chance! He wouldn't have that the wheels were a different colour, saying it was audi grey. The wheels were never "audi grey" The guy was saying that we got the deal on groupon and that they normally charge more. I don't recall the Groupon advertising for a refurb, done at some point, no communication, in whatever colour they fancy. Perhaps more disturbingly the car looked like it had been out rally driving, mud sprayed all along the body work, like it had been driven at high speed somewhere muddy. Not how we dropped the car off. We also seemed to be missing a quarter of a tank of fuel. As we were in discussions another car turned up, a red audi, sporting a fancy set of blue wheels. Not the best combo. We spoke to the couple who had a similar dispute. They had been without their car for 2 weeks, they wanted grey wheels, ended up with blue, and also had paint all over their tyres. They also mentioned they were missing about half a tank of fuel. They weren't happy. We've swapped number and will be complaining to Groupon and anywhere else we can. So we've ended up with four ruined alloys and have now arranged for another company to sort them out. I am guessing there are many more like us out there, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Update 10th Apr 2016: following is the text message my girlfriend received following myself posting this review: "Tell roger if he had a pair of b****cks tell me to my face caps are not included and price. Your car was driven he is a meaning paedo" "Moaning Paedo" Not quite the considered response to my review here. Admitting you had driven the car and resorting to threatening insults. I had a lengthy discussion with you as previously described. Pictures show the mud from where it had been driven, the damage, paint on wheels and the blue wheels from the other couple which were supposed to be grey. I'll leave it up to the public as to whether you and your business is one they feel comfortable taking their cars to."
"Really pleased with the refurbishment ( as advertised ) of all four alloys. Was told it would take 1-2 days and it did. Would defiantly use again."
