Reviews of Dyke Road Park Cafe
"Myself and my partner stopped in here before visiting the Booth museum. A lovely little cafe overlooking Hove Green. I ordered a simple brownie and Dr Pepper and both were delicious and reasonably priced. However, the meals going past us as we sat down looked absolutely amazing. My partner ordered a mocha and when it arrived, the waitress put down an Americano instead. This mistake was quickly rectified and she was given a mocha, however she said that she has had much nicer Mocha's at other cafes."
"I live near this cafe and every time I think I might pop in for a cup of tea, I have a miserable time. Horrible atmosphere. It's always full of young children shouting and banging on the tables, and it's staffed by mumbly vacant-eyed teenagers who don't seem to know what they're doing there. The food I've had in the past has been rubbish, but I hear they've changed the kitchen recently. The drinks are fine, the location is nice, but despite the fact I can literally see it from my house, I would still rather go anywhere else for a coffee."
"Yay Dyke Road Park cafe is open again. They have made the space larger and warmer and more like a cafe (as opposed to two chalets by the park toilets). I love the distant sea views and can’t wait for summer again on the terrace. I had a straightforward cheese toastie - nothing special but presented with care and the waitress was super nice. She certainly deserves five stars."
"The cafe has had a renovation and looks lovely! It's such a nice space to relax with a coffee. Even spotted that they are now serving beer on tap! I tried the breakfast on their new menu and the food was really nice. You can tell they've used fresh and good quality produce. Those seasoned potato's are lovely! Can't wait to come back to try some of the other new dishes."
"Nice to see Dyke Road Cafe back open. Internal refurbishment is a big improvement! No-nonsense menu, tasty with good coffee. The staff are very attentive to your needs. The cafe itself has one of THE BEST locations in the city. It's beautiful sitting out in the sun enjoying the view. Get the seating back on the terrace, maybe some terrace plants.... Even in winter customers would enjoy this. Maybe put up some photos in the cafe of the park in days gone by? Or just photos of the incredible view? just to give the cafe a slightly cooler vibe. Overall a great little caff."
