Reviews of The Orange Tree Bar and Grill
"Always have a brilliant time here. The staff are always really friendly and helpful. The service is quick and the food is stunning. Quite pricey but you get what you pay for. Brilliant for a special occasion but you best book as it's always busy, giving a fabulous atmosphere every time."
"Really disappointed with our experience tonight. I’ve wanted to eat at this place for a number of years, and decided to for my birthday this week. I had high hopes for tonight. The online pictures and the menu looked great. Unfortunately the good impressions were the best of it all! I booked two weeks in advance and when I called tonight to confirm the booking, I was told it doesn’t exist. How? But we got a table anyway. The waitresses are teenage girls, and the service is impersonal. It took 20 minutes for our orders to even be taken. When the food arrived it was very average. It was slammed down onto the table carelessly, and it was seriously lacking in seasoning, and the portions were quite small. If I’m paying almost £18 for a main course, I don’t expect to have to season it myself. This appears to be a trend with the Paragon group. Needless to say, we went to McDonald’s and had a McFlurry for dessert! This is a chain trying to masquerade as high end. I don’t recommend it, and I wouldn’t come here again. BTW they force you to pay a tip, and don’t tell you this at all."
"The atomsphere was mild (which is okay for me, maybe not for others). There was music quietly playing in the background and the general level of noise was lovely. You could easily hold a conversation at a normal level. Outdoor seating is available. Inside, the lighting is dime, however most if not all of the dining area have massive glass windows facing them, allowing a vast amount of light to come in and brighten the room, making it look more spacious. The staff were generally very polite and came over a few times to check to see if everything was okay, which is nice to see. Bear in mind it was a quite evening so wouldn't know if this is still obtainable during busier evenings. The food was great and well presented (as you can see via the pictures). I did have a bit of a problem with my meal in which the paper underneath my food started to break up and I accidentally started to consume it. Now I don't know if this is an error on my half or whether this incident could be a thing that The Orange Tree Bar need to be made aware of. I ended up not bringing it up with the staff. Hopefully they will be aware of it by reading this lengthy review. Plus any possible future diners will also be aware of it too. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I would go and dine there again. If I could I would give 4.5⭐️"
"3 star for in a 5 star setting. Not a single thing stood out as nice or spectacular. The pasta was the worst thing any of us has ever tasted and the little kid was sooo disappointed and had to eat someone else’s meal as an exchange. They did offer to exchange it for something else but we did not take them up in their offer because it wasn’t worth it. The burnt pineapple nojito was a great non-alcoholic cocktail as I am told the fruits are cut and dried in their kitchen. The OT Mixed Grill of sirloin, treacle glazed ribeye, pork pork chicken and grilled miso prawns were manageable as was the Thai spiced chicken. I wouldn’t recommend this place except you are looking for a nice ambience to take IG-gramm worthy photos."
"Good food and certainly what you expect from Paragon Group. Chicken supreme with gnocchi was great, one of my favourite combinations, and the sauce was really nice. The pork was so soft it melted in the mouth and the cabbage and truffle mash very moorish. The burger was very meaty tasting and delicious as well. Enjoyable setting and decor, but it was a little too loud (booming music in the restaurant area and not just the bar + some nearby guests) for early Saturday evening to the point we couldn't hear each other talking. Wouldn't mind as much if it was 9 or 10pm, but this was 6pm! If I was eating out again at a similar time of the day, I'd probably go elsewhere and maybe to one of their other venues like Willow."
